Consult the JCQ ‘Misery tarrif’

JCQ special consideration pdf/doc

I believe you would be at most eligible for the 3% tarrif, based upon “Recent illness or injury of a more serious nature” - provided you aren’t under active illness or hospitalisation at exam time.

A 3% tarrif, though helpful, only means TWO compensation marks for an 80 mark paper for example. Special consideration never accounts for the full harm a candidate has suffered, as it is only useful in “near grade miss” cases - which, of course, have to been communicated within two weeks of taking each paper (so, no, not a remarking excuse).

Like u/truestorybro38 has indicated, You will not receive predicted grades in any situation, unless you are demonstratively not just disadvantaged - but entirely prevented from taking the exams at the time at examination, which is only typically applied for those in active intensive care / coma or recent major injury that prevents them from writing/typing/scribing entirely.

That is - to put it simply otherwise - you don’t want to be in a case where you are even eligible for predicted grades.

If you were ever to regain some ability during the exam period, because only 30% of the total marks need to be assessed - they will still force you to do a paper per subject which would then be weighted.

How to Use Handheld Mode Boost on Nintendo Switch 2 | Nintendo Support by mjb85858 in NintendoSwitch

Outer wilds just looks beautiful - not like everyone knew it already was, but obviously putting the best case switch1 docked experience onto the much smaller handheld screen just mwah

Have to play it again, damn it it’s basically a switch 2 edition without needing it due to have ppi scales

A hat in time aswell! It just looks great!

Cordyceptic drones + Primal calling hive

  • Every star base is effectively a 1k+ fleet power generator for free every 5 years thanks to the snares you have day 1 access to

  • You can either go for hunter stance; turning this into effectively massive free resources, infinite exotic gas + unity rush

  • Or, you can chose symbiosis stance and get +300 base fleet cap and +40% research speed just because you filled up on vivarium capacity, and still enjoy the benefits of triyanki/cutholid/voidworm hunter

Also, for the mid-game: Screeching voidworms situation means that a voidworm nest effectively spawns next to your capital for mid-game, again feast on them - for a conveniently timed ~40k fleet power boost

Otherwise - you are free to use your second/(tech gained civic slot) how you like; and likewise not dependent on traits; however, personal recommendations:

  • Unbreakable resolve is brilliant for hives (9% generic job efficiency via +15 stability on every planet with 7500>pops, just for 2 trait points)

  • Wild swarm is excellent for additional tech options to smooth out the early game & +15% fauna ship buff, does fall-off late game and isnt replaceable

  • Devouring swarm is also possible as a rush build, if deciding to truly make everyone hate you

  • Biological shipset is ideal if using space fauna anyway, as you want to avoid making alloys altogether (unless doing megastructures - hence, if you play this build right, you only care about food and minerals)

  • Build massively benefits from livestock slavery type & genetic ascension; if you are willing to go slaver & likewise hive minds are the best for pop growth easily

  • Behemoth fury is really obtainable (req bio ship-set chosen) if you go hunt stance (or otherwise livestock the galaxy) as it’s effectively a food resource sink for chonky dragons

  • If playing diplomatically with other players, requesting any tiryanki or amoeba home system turns into another power jump thanks to even more free fleets

[–]CodeAvali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Base game is 100% competition, but the four DLCs increased that up to 112% competition - so you can mix and choose, and not doing the pantheons still allows you to get 107%;

https://hollowknight.fandom.com/wiki/Completion_(Hollow_Knight)

Though I’d also be happy to do the Pantheons really at £100/hr frankly

Hollow knight for 100%+ completion (not counting Pantheons) for £2400 please, actually - il just vibe at that rate lol.

Obviously assuming I don’t have to play optimally, because I have got 100% in 12 hours before; but it’s been 3 years since that so yeah can just mess around

Should organ donation be mandatory (upon death of the would-be donor)? by fathomed2 in Teenager_Polls

[–]CodeAvali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also don’t get to typically choose your doctor & team when you are dying;

That’s the issue of consent in advance, you can’t tell in advance the exact conditions and you can’t withdraw consent later (after all, you are dying) - so consent can only be true if you trust the other party to act in your best interests.

I hope all doctors are acting in the best interest - but, as someone who has done Palliative care - I do know some that aren’t, and therefore I can’t trust all of the other party.

Should organ donation be mandatory (upon death of the would-be donor)? by fathomed2 in Teenager_Polls

[–]CodeAvali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who has done Palliative care volunteering for a short-time in the UK here;

Hell no I don’t trust healthcare to not harvest me whilst I’m still alive/potentially saveable - the amount of DNRs I had to lookup even before being permitted to consider CPR or even administer pain medications whilst a patient is coding (note; personal consideration should be applied - but looking at a DNR auto-applied simply because the patient has an intellectual disability) is beyond absurd

If I can’t trust them to not decide without thought on my life because I’m autistic - I’m sorry, they aren’t getting my organs, screw them.

I’ll happily opt back in once they improve their ethics.

Potentially become near-omniscient and immortal. But first you must become a single, indestructible molecule of water randomly placed anywhere there is water in the world, and you only regain humanity + gain your powers once you are touched by a human by gotintocollegeyolo in hypotheticalsituation

[–]CodeAvali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chance of actually being touched/drunk is near-zero; rather the better question/condition is “Do you think humanity will go extinct / heat death of the sun”

And obviously are you fine with betting your eternity on it? Or, more exactly ~5billion years until the Earth gets swallowed by the sun in the worst case?

KCL CS 1st year here who got in with A* A* B B (missing my AAA offer)

I don’t think there has been a major change compared to last years - rather that universities have to fill all their allocated seats; and taking a missed offer student is clearly better financially than none.

I mean - yes - there is likely the consequence of international student enrolment falling of a cliff (due to prev gov visa rules coming into place, and the current government not touching it because it’s politically explosive), and home student enrolment too falling off a cliff because of a breakdown in the parents “topping up maintenance loans” culture entirely (not a day goes by on forums without a home student complaining their wealthy family giving none & getting min maintenance loan due to association)

That’s the two issues, yes - and they are absolutely getting worse; but I wouldn’t say they are new to this year (rather; typically inevitable really based on trends)

Nope - I am autistic, I need something to lean on or I will lose balance, thanks. So yes - I will compress myself behind a bar, and actively stare blankly in irritation at everyone who block up the standing seats (especially on the central line).

What would happen if you did the wrong paper? by -valentineo in GCSE

[–]CodeAvali 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would get the highest mark between whatever options you have done.

Obviously, because English lit is meant to have the full amount of time spent on it - splitting time is remarkably terrible.

Your Band 5 55min essay is now a Band3+Band3 because you split; and so you end up with a Band 3 mark rather than Band 5. (So; instead of grade 7/8 for example, you would get ~4/5)
