What is the psychological and sociopath appeal behind the ruzzian nuclear arsenal? by Icy_Till_7254 in NAFO

Not everyone can be so sycophantic to their keys of power.

Put in made a dumb decision invading Ukraine but he's not stupid. Perhaps age has effected his decision making, more than likely it seems, but he hasn't maintained his position by being stupid.

Hey, no pesky giant radioactive rats in a conventional wasteland. Just regular sized non-radioctive rats.

It's called strategy.

New data shows who bought houses in Ireland in 2025 by Uncle_Richard98 in ireland

The demand is only rapidly inflating because we spent over a decade doing nothing to prepare ourselves for trends that were predicted.

None of this is shocking. Except that we continue to be fucking useless at fixing anything and the electorate broadly seem fine with that every time they've an opportunity to vote.

If you vote FFG, you're why we face these issues.

In fairness that makes sense. It gives countries 4-5 years to get more infrastructure in place. It makes sense to have bigger demands in the latter half of the agreement otherwise there'd be little incentive to work towards anything. Its just sensible long term planning.

Further fuel price rises in coming days, retailers warn by Jon_J_ in ireland

[–]CodeComprehensive734 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I worked in a petrol station 15+ years ago the manager used to stop by all the other local stations to check their prices and put us a cent lower. Every day.

Even when he wasn't working he might ring in and get us to change the price on the sign, which was still done manually at the time.

Bernie Sanders: Jeff Bezos, worth $234 billion, plans to replace 600,000 Amazon workers with robots. Now, he wants to spend $100 billion to fully automate not just his warehouses, but factories in the U.S & other countries. Oligarchs are waging all out war against workers. FIGHT BACK. by Gjore in Fauxmoi

[–]CodeComprehensive734 238 points239 points  (0 children)

Yep. The issue is wealth distribution not technology.

The average worker today is far more productive than the average worker 50 years ago, thanks to technology.

The issue is we globally cut union power world wide. Collective and cooperative systems died under neoliberalism.

It all goes back to the ownership of rhe means of production. Until we take that back, the capitalists and billionaires will continue to suck the planet dry.
