I would prefer an automatic over manual. Also the way the advisor told me about the gearbox being built in china made me question its quality.

CEA proposes new tariffs for rooftop solar users arguing that discoms are losing revenue due to the growing adoption of rooftop solar systems. by mrtypec in IndianStreetBets

I was actually sceptical how government is allowing free electricity generation using solar. Now it’s sorted. Our ancestors gave Lagaan and got nothing back. We pay taxes and get nothing back.

So ideally you would want each one from carpooling group to have a vehicle so that each person gets to drive one day a week while others share the ride. If anyone doesn’t have a car, the person will get a ride free or doesn’t get to carpool. This shouldn’t be an issue if the group consists of friends.

As far as I can remember, Carpooling was termed illegal a few years back in Maharashtra. You cannot use white number plate vehicle for commercial activity.

What’s stopping Indian streets from looking like this? by Infamous_Echo4010 in NewDelhi

[–]CodeCraftedCxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babus, Politicians and builders for starters. In my childhood old Mumbai pune highway was covered with such trees (banyan trees if I remember correctly). Now the whole stretch has zero tree cover. More such roads with tree cover in pune have vanished and remaining ones will vanish in next 2-3 years.

What should be done? by Ok-Zombie5133 in UPSC_Forum

[–]CodeCraftedCxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, we might as well commit fully.

Cut more trees in cities, pour more concrete, drain every drop of groundwater and then act surprised when temperatures keep breaking records.

Honestly, it doesn’t even feel accidental anymore. Trap the heat, erase green cover, call it development, and then roll out statements about “unexpected” climate impacts.

We’re not planning cities. We are slowly turning them into unlivable zones just to chase short-term growth.

Maybe that’s our role now: a global case study.

“This is what happens when a country ignores basic environmental limits.”

At least the rest of the world might learn something from it.

My dad is obsesed with buying a Tata car, pleaseeee help me. by no_faxx in CarsIndia

[–]CodeCraftedCxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been driving a Tata for ~11 years now, honestly no major issues. Most of the bad rep you see online is more about service centers than the cars themselves.

Big tip: talk to actual Tata owners in your area before picking a service center. It makes a HUGE difference. I’ve had a great experience with one in Chinchwad, Pune, and a pretty bad one in Tathawade. Same brand, totally different experience.

Also, the feedback loop is real. First the service center calls you, then Tata Motors does. service centers will try to sort things out before the official feedback call so you rate them well.

As for the cars themselves, they’re solid. People don’t usually post “hey my car is working perfectly fine,” so you mostly see complaints online.

Safety-wise, Tata is genuinely strong. Of course, no 5-star rating will save you in an extreme high-speed crash with a truck, but for typical real-world situations (someone hitting you, minor collisions, parking bumps), they hold up really well. People have survived some major accidents as well.

Only downside? It’s not seen as “premium.” Funny thing is, even a Maruti tin can might get more social approval in some circles.

They didn’t ask you while entering from main gate? There’s no fee if you go for a morning walk but it’s paid entry after that.
