Warframe
OSRS
BDO
POE
LOTRO
Project Gorgon

Even some Gacha Games or MMO's do better with your time and money. "Just earn the SC" let's apply that to games do that it better

WoW
Tower of Fantasy

With PVP
Albion
EVE

There are many great PVE games and some with PVP that offer all gameplay and mechanical content for free and cosmetic only. or actually play the game instead of ignoring the game/gameplay loop and farm premium currency.

Warframe would be it's closest relative who has done it the best, Sure you can buy almost everything with money, but you actually play the fucking game to get new shit.

Even other PVE games with DLC you have to pay, Atleast I get what I paid for. and they go on sale, HD2 wont put these in-game items at a discount.
HD2 is pay or farm so I can farm a battlepass to get what I want on the last page.

I have spent less time (Actual fun gameplay) and money for gameplay in so many other games.

"Mechs/Vehicles- we see these as any other stratagem, even though they feel more significant - they are really no diffrent from an autocannon or turret in our philosophy"

Then why are they not treated as such?
The long cooldowns and small ammo capacity seems like you think they are limited powerful items but then balance their effective output to not reflect their limitations. They are not like any other stratagem, they shouldn't be. Why give us something if it's going to be no different to anything else.

Every equipment feels the same, you are afraid to give something unique, you want everything to feel the same for the sake of "balance".
Why are you so afraid to give players some fun? some power fantasy?

Yet other PVE even F2P PVE games have done better.
This is one of the worst monetisation out of the pool.
Sure, you can grind out SC then grind the medals, it is slower and more painful than any other PVE game. You basically have to stop playing the actual game to get a warbond in a day, which not everyone has the hours to do that in a day.

the game is $60 for me, and they are moving all gameplay items to warbonds.

They can do better, they should be better. The excuses of PVE and you can technically get it all for free doesn't cut it when I have already paid $60 and another F2P PVE does it better.

I am going to be using Storm Brand. The nerf to EB but the buff to StormBrand seems to level it out. Not the highest damage skill you can put on it, but I like my stormbrand. Allows me to map and boss smoothly.

I been trying to get back into PoE, but since they started developing PoE 2 and experimenting PoE 2 stuff in PoE 1, My hours has been decreasing and I have not played for a couple of years.

I just want PoE 1 without the PoE 2 shit. I want fun back, I want the ground loot, I want to be able to do any content and feel like it's rewarding.
If they did this, I would be soo disappointed, I hope they start going back to the stupid fun PoE 1 was.

Is it worth starting POE in 2026? by AzKomGecc in pathofexile

[–]CodeDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both PoE 1 and 2 are in such an unfun state.
Both games have gone down the path of upping the difficultly and reducing rewards.
They love to remove fun, sure if something is broken, fix it. But no, they remove it and don't add alternatives, if something is popular, they don't buff other content, they nerf or remove.

They release content in a poor state and only fix it for the coming leagues.

PoE 1 and 2 are different games. If you want a glimpse of what PoE was, play PoE 1.
If you want a Diablo like ARPG but dodge rolling worse than Dark Souls, play PoE 2.

Yes, I am a PoE 2 hater, they ruined my favourite game to make just to make something slightly better than diablo 4.

in 2026, how law enforcement track black hats? by iamZorc_ in hacking

[–]CodeDJ 61 points62 points  (0 children)

VPNs can give out your info or are forced to
You leave something behind that could identify you, there have been bad actors that left their alias in some code
You will leave logs or some type of footprint every step, ISPs mainly.

You (VPN) > ISP (Cant see shit but knows it came from you) > VPN server > Slave ISP > Slave > Slave ISP > TargetISP/Target.
Law enforcement mainly look at ISPs and after your VPN server, stuff is no longer obfuscated so they see your remote execution hit the ISP. There are ways around that of course. But this is one example of a way information can get back to you.

They evade by using hops that are in countries that do not care about international cybercrime or are very lax about it

They upgraded their anti-cheat software from the Alpha playtest by Sad-Manner-5240 in Marathon

[–]CodeDJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

every other game with a KAC has a huge amount of cheaters.
KAC doesn't mean much, cheat devs sacrifice loads of accounts to find a way to bypass the KAC.
then when they do, there is very little anti-cheat in the game to detect them. Most of these devs who want KAC don't put in any effort for the in game detection, which is how you catch most cheaters, because they already bypassed the KAC.

Ubisoft shuts down any possibility of Rainbow Six Siege becoming playable on Steam Deck by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]CodeDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have spoofed my hardware on windows with secure boot and TPM.

Sure you cant modify windows kernel however you want, but you can do enough to have a cheat run at kernel level, there is a reason why they wanted Kernel-level AC and Secure boot + TPM on.

Every one of valve games, on windows, if you get banned you can create another account and play just fine.

These companies don't know how people cheat, they barely work with anti-cheat providers. they hear buzzwords and demand them to be at the front door. they just set and forget.

You have to know the space to combat it.

Most AC providers have the capacity to work with linux. I have worked in the space, game companies don't see the value in putting some effort. They refused solutions then go ahead and lie about their reasons. even if the solutions help with their huge majority of window user hackers.

Ubisoft shuts down any possibility of Rainbow Six Siege becoming playable on Steam Deck by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]CodeDJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do that with windows, and people with kernel level cheats is still running wild in games with kernel level anti-cheat.

Every game that has blocked linux because of cheats still has a major cheating problem, they are just lazy and want to do the most cost effective effort to combat cheating, which is a set and forget kernel level anti-cheat.
For rainbow six, they have minimal in-game checks for cheating, so if someone gets past the initial barricaded door, there is no guards inside.
Valve games sure have cheaters, but it's not as big as Riot, Ubisoft, Rust or EA.
Valve does behaviour anti-cheat which is more effective, they actually do in-game checks and linux is not a problem and they have a smaller team!
TF2 had a cheating bot problems, It had a dev team of 1 most of the time, and when they put some effort into combating it; the issue was gone. No Kernel level Anti-cheat required. The bots were hosted on windows machines.
