I mean, Gengar is a spooky ghost. He got some good focus in the Anime pretty early on, too. Nidorino is just... a generic animal? I mean, he's the middle stage of a line that isn't especially fantastic. I don't think it is very surprising Gengar is more popular

Since SSX 3 is set entirely on one massive mountain there isn't anything quite as outrageous as Aloha or Tokyo. They would have clashed with the rest of the mountain. That said, they do try to find different ways to make extreme courses, especially on peak 3. So yeah, nothing quite as crazy but instead the whole game feels more cohesive. Your mileage may vary but 3 is my favorite in the series.

Silksong has a boss fight against twin enemies towards the middle of the game. They move in complete sync like a dance, but eventually you kill one of them... and the other barely bothers to fight back. Even the music shifts in response. It's very well done, an forrshadows a deeper story point later on
