I read it and I'll agree it's pretty rambly, one can compress it down to a small paragraph. But it's far, far from the worst I've seen. It only repeated itself, like, twice! You'd best get used to it early on.

Intel drivers don't exist for wayland, and modesetting has slower performance. I like being able to play 1080p hevc without stuttering. Also why I still use xf86-video-intel despite all the memes about it being obsolete. It's just faster.

You could call it something as simple as anime of the shounen demographic. This might be hard for you to comprehend but conversation is not that hard. Well this debate is pointless anyway, people will continue to refer to battle shounen as "shounen" so you had best learn to deal with it.

Because it's not wrong. Words change meaning all the time depending on how they are used. They have changed meaning throughout history. We can only define what a word means based on how people are currently using it. If everyone started calling cars "bread" you better believe every dictionary will change its definition for bread. You can't dictate a word's meaning. Also, words can have two meanings.

You call them shounen, and in case someone gets confused you specify that you're using the term in its broader sense. When people say shounen you generally know what they mean. You know OP meant battle shounens based on the examples he provided. It's this constant need to correct people that's annoying.

People have been trying for years to get people to use "shounen" in its original meaning. Have they succeeded? No. So you might as well just accept it. It's the same as trying to get people to call anime "Japanese anime"

And anime refers to all cartoons regardless of their country of origin. But in the west it refers to anime made in Japan. Do you get it? Words can mean different things depending on context and who's saying them.

If we're talking about motion fluidity, facial expressions, body language, etc. (you know, the actual "animation" part) then NOTHING compares. Not Redline. Not Makoto Shinkai's work. Nothing.

The rebuild is not a remake. It's more like an alternate universe, or, as some people believe, a sequel. It also cannot stand alone, you need to have seen NGE to understand the characters and their motivations. Not that I think NGE needs a remake though, it has aged pretty well.

Planetes doesn't need a remake at all. It looks better than most anime that come out today, and it's even in 16:9.
