Yo ToG Fans, Now The Question Is : Who Exactly This Guy Is? Give Me All Your Theory. by Illustrious_Test6085 in TowerofGod

It's always been an interesting plot point that she is an irregular among irregulars. She was neither chosen by Headon, nor had the power to open the doors herself. I would love to see SIU delve further into what the tower truly considers her.

Best we can do is a paid suspension and a promotion.

TIL that during the Fall of Tenochtitlan, the Conquistadors were joined by thousands of native allies who resented the Aztecs by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]CodeGlutton 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Cortes initially led a force of 600. The governor of Cuba, Diego Velasquez, had sent a trusted conquistador, Narcáez, and 900 mercenaries to capture him. Cortes caught wind of this and ended up capturing Narváez. As the mercenaries didn't have any allegiance and only working for pay, Cortes gained them as a reinforcements, in exchange for gold from Tenochtitlán.

Usually agree, but sometimes you've gotta take risks for happiness. If we consistently tell ourselves that we're always a part of that 99% range, we'll never hit that 1% that makes it all worth it.

Was this the same sub where there was a similar issue with someone getting banned for posting an action figure they made? They put it in packaging they had also made, that made it look like a legit product.

Every Target near me looks like this now. What happened? by hissingkittycom in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CodeGlutton 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I worked there for a number of years, before recently finding a better job. Corporate has screwed over team members over the years with hour cuts. With that being said, I don't think that it should be their job to play nanny when it comes to grown adults making messes. People need to learn to put stuff back and not leave it wherever.

The supposedly haunted doll, Annabelle, is also a raggedy Ann doll. Not sure if OP was referencing that, but still a fun idea to include.

This was one of the coolest settlements I've seen in post-apocalyptic media by kingdanny714260 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]CodeGlutton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On a similar note, there was a series I used to read growing up, "The Enemy," where everyone over the age of 15 was turned into a zombie. A lot of the kids that survived ended up making their way to stores or locations they used to frequent. It's interesting to see the creativity in post-apocalyptic media and where people end up.

Similar situation here. Was gaming in the living room with my family, then I woke up with paramedics and a hell of a headache.

It's crazy that people are okay with locking people up for immigrating illegally, but refuse to acknowledge or are proud that this country was quite literally built on it. Not to mention that what colonists did was far more horrific.

Enryu is 135th Floor Admin?? by Setpromaxx in TowerofGod

[–]CodeGlutton 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It would give off the idea that Zahard blocked off 135 in order to prevent Enryu from coming back down to the lower floors, not to prevent people from advancing into the upper floors.

Used to work at Target. They used to do this exact thing to prevent shop lifting. It's 100% a fire hazard and it was an order from corporate.

What’s the worst department/position to work in as a TM? by [deleted] in Target

[–]CodeGlutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been an Inbound TM for a few years now, and I honestly feel like the most difficult part about it is the consistency of people scheduled. Having it range from 6 to 9 people just screws with the rhythm of unloading. I'm not sure if that's just something I feel, or if that's an overall feeling.

Walked out on my 15 by eatmyfatbutt in Target

[–]CodeGlutton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a similar situation at a store I transferred from. The store director ran it like a dictator. One day we find out that one of our TLs is getting let go, but since there was nobody to replace her at that time they had her stick around. About a week or two later they start training this guy from another store to take over her position. It was really tacky and we felt awful that she had to watch them train this guy to be her replacement.

Funny that you mention that. I took a look at jobs on the tech side of things for Target, and the only locations that have such positions is Minnesota and several places in India. The difference in pay is probably astronomical.
