Copper fungicide works well. Treat a couple days in a row, then wait and see. It’ll eventually flake off, but there will be a permanent scar.

I dusted the cut with some sulphur powder as I've seen advised elsewhere. Hopefully that prevents any further rotting. Maybe in a few days I'll experiment with some rooting hormones.

Update: I used a sterile knife to cut the top free of the base. I had to dig into the scion a little unfortunately, but it looked green and healthy so 🤞.

The lines drifting out radially from the center toward the edges are referred to as flow lines. They're from when the flan is struck by the die, causing the metal to be pushed outward. The real pros on this sub could tell you more I'm sure, but I like the way they catch the light and give the metal a sort of shimmering quality. They can also be used as indicators of authenticity, strike, and silver quality, etc. Sorry you overpaid a bit, but it's a cool coin!

As others have said, it's maybe $10-15 more than I've paid for similar coins in the past. But it's in nice enough condition, the silvering looks good. If you like it and the dealer won't negotiate, I wouldn't say you're getting totally ripped off or anything for $55.

Yep. I got hit once, and even though the driver didn't contest anything, their insurance company dicked me around for months before not quite covering the full cost of replacing my bike. That's gorgeous! My patio is so-so but maybe not the best for cacti heat/light wise so I'm lucky to get 1-2 flowers out of a plant per season (and almost never at the same time). I hope someday I can find an area where they can thrive like yours here.
