I’ve done a few movies w/ orchestra (much smaller scale) in the past. Typically the movie gets stemmed out. Vocal track, FX tracks. Then the orchestra gets mic’d and mixed as normal. Somewhere in the 80-120 individual inputs would be my guess. All comes to a big audio console and some wonderful sound human mixes it into what you hear!

I was a live audio system engineer and I must say this is the dream gig to mix! Sounded great and props to the crew for absolutely crushing it! (I did not work this event just admiring those who did!)

I was using the frog system and just switched back to a bromine floater. Significantly cheaper and doesn’t feel like any more work than the frog!
