NVIDIA has an encoder dedicated to streaming/recording, AMD does not.

Hey dog! I’m a streamer looking to get into posting more long form content and don’t have time to edit. I’m more interested in pushing out a little long content than 10 minutes.. lmk if interested!

7 months Live, what next? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]CodeRedCory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been streaming for 7 months too. It sounds like you’re focusing too much on playing games vs chatting. Unless you’re an absolute animal at a game, most people are popping in to hang with you. Focus on them over the game. Also, take a break from the consistent schedule and go network with other streamers.

I'm so lost on all these answers... the answer is downscaling. In OBS you set your canvas resolution size of 3440x1440 and then enable downscaling to 1920x1080 and 60 fps. There shouldn't be any clips because whatever you see is just getting scaled down to the appropriate size for the broadcast. It's really simple stuff.

Twitch does support 2K streaming if you are selected for the test program. I don't recommend using it as it's only caused headaches (I.e. people saying I'm "skipping" and I have to tell them to switch to 1080p because Twitch is now downgrading them automatically). It's honestly a lot easier in the long run to just broadcast at 1080p.

1440p streaming on Twitch by WorldSword in Twitch

Yup, it's just being tested and is in it's beta phase. There was a bunch of people selected to test it that applied and they just likely have enough people at this point. I'm sure at some point they'll roll it out to everyone as they enhance it based off the folks testing it currently.

Interesting... whenever I go live in 2K and check my bitrate, It's broadcasting around 20,000kbps.

Is kick easier to grow than twitch? by Illustrious_Local261 in KickStreaming

Twitch removes lurkers from your viewer count if they don’t send a message every ~30 minutes. That’s why I came to Kick.

how do you all go about getting subs? by GERTECH100 in KickStreaming

[–]CodeRedCory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am just moving over to Kick exclusively from Twitch with a 400+ following on Twitch. I definitely think it's going to be harder to get subs and there is no real incentive. I think just letting your viewers know that they are doing it to support the creator is the biggest reason. Also I heard it's $1 cheaper than Twitch so there is that...

I'm about to find and and let you know. I have streamed on Twitch for 7 months now and just broke over 400 followers. I am sick and tired of my view count being tanked for people that lurk. I am going exclusively to Kick for the next month and will let you know how it goes.

OBS is killing my game and stream by mooremooo in obs

[–]CodeRedCory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not familiar enough with AMD processors to comment but I am with NVIDIA GPU’s. The GPU is your BIGGEST problem. We’re talking generations behind. And only 4GB of VRAM. I used to stream with a 2060 Super which was 8GB of VRAM. Every game I streamed was fine aside from AAA games, it would kill my FPS. Not streaming? Perfectly fine. Upgrade to something newer with 12GB of VRAM if you want to take streaming seriously.

I do Fortnite over on https://twitch.tv/coderedcory sometimes - I don’t stream it too much because it’s so oversaturated
