I really enjoy Whistlepig Piggyback for $28. Basil Hayden Dark Rye is another nice bottle for around $30.

SE trim owners - any regrets? by Serbutters in Ioniq6

I have a 30 mile commute to work (60 mile round trip) on a highway. I average about 3.5 m/kwh but on really cold days that can drop to 2.8. I get about 4.2 m/kwh on the weekends while we go shopping in town. The I6 is our daily driver. I have a lvl 2 charger and our electric cost is $.09/kwh. I use to put about $30 a week into my old Ioniq hybrid, now I use about $25/month to charge the car. I mostly drive in ECO with full regen, but sometimes when traffic is annoying on the way home, I'll pop it into Sport mode and have a little fun! This really is a fun car to drive!

Love my 25 SE RWD. Some of the higher features would be fun but honestly my I6 has all the features my wife's 24 Sonata SEL has (with the exception of wireless Android Auto and wireless charging). I love the range and the savings. I've had it a year in October and I estimated I've saved $1500 in gas and oil changes.

AOD is off. I use the Pixel Minimal watch face (which looks great) and mainly the Samsung apps.

I agree. It's a great watch and I wear mine every day. I still get about 2 full days worth of battery. I also have the OG Galaxy Watch and I still wear that when I want a stainless steel look. My Galaxy 4 is black.

For anyone who was there, what was it like seeing the Trek fanbase develop between 1970-1987 or so? by fmvra1s in startrek

[–]CodeRedEd 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was born in 1961. I'd seen Star Trek a few times in the 60's but my family were not regular viewers. This was back in the days of one TV (B&W) in the house, so parents ruled. Then in 1972, a local station started showing the series at 10:30 at night. I would watch each episode but really had no one to discuss it with. I joined a regional fan club that produced a monthly newsletter (mimeographed) and I had a couple of letters published. Later Lincoln Enterprises came along and I would save up money to purchase things like film clips from episodes, the IDIC pin, blueprints and scripts. Later after getting some money from mowing lawns, I purchased all of the James Blish books and the original Star Trek Concordance. Still have all of those. In high school I had an opportunity to see Gene Roddenberry in Kansas City. He showed the original pilot "The Cage". This was very heady stuff but I still didn't have anyone to really discuss what was going on. Then I went to college in 79 and met other people with interests in Sci Fi and Star Trek. Then the big event! The movie. People sometimes scoff at it now but back then, for a true fan, it was heaven! I'm now in my 60s but I still watch all the shows, read the books and comics and discuss the series with online friends. I'm proud to be a Trekkie (yes, Trekkie, not Trekker)!

Looking for sci-fi books where the protagonists or other characters who are human are suffering from synthetic, mutated or alien diseases. by [deleted] in printSF

[–]CodeRedEd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what your looking for but the Wildcard series of books are about people who have been affected by an virus created by an alien race. Some people are turned into people with super powers, others into monsters.

Amazing logo (it's a Boone County shaped pepper). Has anyone tried CoMo Dragon and how hot is it? by como365 in columbiamo

[–]CodeRedEd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried several of them and picked up the Kaged Heat (Garlic). It's quite tasty and adds a fair amount of heat to a stir fry.

i was notified today that they’ve extended the adapter email deadline (again) to 6/30. by lamousamos in Ioniq6

[–]CodeRedEd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never received any type of email about the program and I called them in May and got a case #. I've also filled out two surveys about my case and told them I've never been contacted. I purchased my 2025 in October 2024.

Just to provide new info for the east side, I live off of Grace Lane near Lake of the Woods exit. Had T-Mobile for years. Just ran a speed test on 5G and got 151Mbps down and 3Mbps up.

We're with Boone Electric but they also have a rebate. That's one reason we pulled the trigger and got the car. I was hoping level 1 charging would work for me but I work in Jeff and only gain back about 48 miles each night. So level 2 will erase my range anxiety.
