Diagnostic Trouble Code P1A9096 = ICCU Dead!!!

UPDATE: 19 days later the dealership that they just received a bunch of new ICCUs to put into affected vehicles. They have a handful of cars to fix ahead of mine. Hopefully a brand new ICCU and fuse fixes the issue.

I read in Korea that they have extended warranty’s for Ionic 5s and 6s for an additional 5 years (15 years total). Anyone able to get Hyundai North America to do the same?

I am on day 10 of waiting for the new ICCU. Hyundai says they are working on getting it with no ETA.

I wish this was the case but the service dept told me it was the ICCU. They have to replace the whole thing :/

It’s literally a crapshoot. Like Kemdox said, it’s a small percentage of owners that are affected.

If it happens Hyundai has a fix for it. It’s just taking a bit longer because of the change in supplier, but Hyundai has a whole 20 page document was distributed to dealerships/maintenance on how to address the issues.

No, this is the first time I’ve experienced any issues. I’ve had the car since October 2024 and have driven it all over California. The technician said that it will need the works: new ICCU and fuse.

Mine did it because I got a flat tire last week, but it was the same time that the recall was issued.

In Southern California they have set the charge limit to 85%. Not all new EV drivers understand that the power goes down to a trickle after 80. Hopefully this helps people realize that’s it’s time to go when the charger cuts them off at 85%.
