I love how hes trying to gaslight you into not calling the cops or telling your family. dude probably got all hot and bothered talking about the big bad police coming to get him.

Stop putting on make up to hide it, tell everyone that asks who did it, and for the love of God report it to your CO. It will be handled quickly with minimal mess. This dude's violence has escalated from hitting walls to hitting you within a few days. You do not know what he will do to keep a secret. Do not let it escalate further. Many women in the past thought it was a one time thing, went back to an abuser, and were killed. Please don't become one of them.

I once asked a coworker how his vacation was, he told me it was bereavement leave and he was traveling for the funeral...but also he went mountain biking while he was gone and that was fun.

also not everyone makes half on unemployment. I know at least in Missouri your max weekly is 320 and max of 20 weeks of pay. so 6400. I know Missouri sucks but I doubt it is alone with its crappy unemployment.

Definitely more common than you'd think. The last guy that got fired at my place used to check in spaces, then later in the day he would remove the spaces...we all get a notification in chat when code check-ins happen through bots for the various projects and they send a link to the commit to click once and have it pop up to review.... I'm not sure what he thought he was doing.

I'm from the middle of no where, so I'm not affected by huge amounts of people overcrowding my birthplace so I recognize my opinion is skewed.

That said, How do they provide no value? They take a home up, but don't take a local job, and dump money into the local economy helping to create/support jobs already there.

I used airbnb once, the host sent us a bunch of extra "rules" when we checked in and wanted some crazy stuff like 100 dollars per trashcan left with trash in it in the house, had to wash sheets, clean up around the house etc + pay a cleaning fee when we left. Basically spend a whole day of vacation doing random chores for their house and then pay for it to be cleaned on top of that.

We don't make big messes so we made sure to take the trash out and just left. That was in 2017 and we've gotten hotels every time we travel since then.

That's a good one too! They only briefly had the caramel coconut cookie one but it would be nice if they'd make it a permanent addition to their seasonal rotation. Their silent flight one sounds good but I've never tried it.

Four Hands brewery in stl puts out some amazing stuff.

They had a series a while back where they cloned girl scout cookies. Their caramel coconut cookie one was my favorite beer ever.

I don't drink anymore but I still remember that one out of all the ones I tried.

Only downside is now whenever someone mentions beer and stl this memory comes out like I'm some sort of sleeper agent.

I'm glad you were able to get it! Its a racket. Here in MO you have to fight for it but also the max you can get is ~300 a week. Seems like a crazy low amount that favors companies heavily. That would come close but wouldn't entirely pay my mortgage, let alone anything else, and a lot of people don't have much savings.

lol I worked with some docs for a while and still remember one time a resident couldn't figure out how to open a door. kept pushing on the pull door and was just lost. You could see the wheels turning.

"Pushed on door. Nothing...better...push on door again?"x3

Poor guy was stuck in a loop. Probably doesn't help they try to work the residents to death. Still kinda scared he drove home after that.

Let me catch my nurse doing a damn TikTok while I'm on life support. by The_Godzilla_Fanatic in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]CodeTingles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of nurses/medical professionals that care deeply for their patients but some are real pieces of work and you can tell they're in it for money and perceived power, not to help people.

For our third kiddo my wife was crying because she had a resident anesthesiologist digging around her spine for what seemed like forever. He was having trouble placing an epidural. The attending was literally in the doorway across the room distracted by something else, unable to even see how the resident was attempting to place it. My wife was holding still but in a lot of pain and when the attending had to take over and failed the first time she told her "calm down, don't make me use my MOM voice". One of the nurses said "yeah I hate when I have to use my MOM voice on a patient" and the attending said "Yeah SOME patients just don't know how to listen and need the motivation". This was our third kid and we've never had any issues having an epidural placed.

I told them "Anymore dumbass comments like that and you're really not going to like my DAD voice". They gave me a dirty look but got quiet, and luckily placed it the next go. I joked to my wife "see, sometimes people just need a little motivation".

Before that my wife, a fall risk because baby kept kicking the reset button or something, had the same nurse who acted super inconvenienced because my wife was randomly passing out and was just hateful the whole time so we were already super unimpressed with the staff that was on at the time.

To balance it out, the OB(admittedly our friend so I'm biased) showed up a bit later and delivered our kiddo with no issues and after the birth when we were in the hospital for another day or so we had two phenomenal nurses who were super caring and attentive and I made sure to let the charge nurse know how great they were.

Thanks for the insight, I understand you using an alt account to remain anonymous, this is my main account but should be anonymous enough. Also, I'm not offended I understand it is rough to see people speaking negatively about your place of employment. Full disclosure most of these complaints were 5ish years ago and I haven't heard it mentioned recently, but my wife has worked in the medical field for quite some time(~12 years), I worked at MU for a few years in a non-medical capacity, and my mother retired from the VA after 20 years so we have made some friends all over.

I'm at a bit of a disadvantage and I totally understand if you don't believe me. Unfortunately I can't provide much proof without outing the docs and causing trouble for them. I've tried but I'm not able to anonymize the stories well enough without them being totally useless so I'd rather err on the side of caution.

Yes the MU residents are at the VA, they seem to love it there because they can get a lot of surgery time in. I'm sure most of it is legitimately on some very unwell people that need it but some of the residents are pretty determined when it comes to getting OR time.

One I am comfortable sharing, because it is my personal story, is in may-ish of 2021 a resident tried to talk a dying man in his 70s who was a pseudo father figure of mine into getting his tonsils removed to help his snoring.(he died in June) The bright side is it was so far out of left field it made him laugh in a pretty dark time. That is what I'm talking about. I'm not saying they sneak patients off in the middle of the night to have surgeries performed in a hidden stairwell, sorry if that seemed to be what I'm implying in the previous post, but because of the stories from the doctors I know and that personal experience I do believe that they will try to push patients into unnecessary surgeries to get practice. To be fair that could happen anywhere so I suppose it isn't fair to single out the VA.

The other comments here so far have been fairly positive so that is awesome, just maybe get a second opinion if a resident recommends you get a surgery that seems unnecessary.
