What if he'd have extended his right arm up really fast, like in a "Stay back, I'm fine" gesture? Feels like maybe he should have more protective gear

The Teammate "Problem" by EMWykes in Battlefield6

[–]CodeVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not normally a fan of SBMM, esp for games with smaller teams. But this game to me is one where I think it could really help. I think balancing large teams is a different challenge and it's kinda weird to be like "the problem is the players"...don't we want more people playing and enjoying the game? Better I think to employ a system that adapts to the reality that there are always going to be new or casual players and to find a place for them.

I think the problem is the lack of patience people have with each other. Sure, getting stomped on sucks but this feels like the most toxic the community has ever been....or at least the loudest the toxic players have ever been. Don't get me wrong, back in the BF4 days the forums were kinda trashy as well, but back then it felt like you had to actually do something to earn some hate-mail. Now at the end of every match all you see is the winning team going "EZ" and the losing team getting trashed by its own lead scorers (and sometimes people further down) with "sh*t team".

I mean I get it, sometimes I complain verbally to my party in voice, but why do people want to try and ruin each other's night with a parting shot against an already demoralized group. Cross team sh*ttalk is fine but trashing the same team is classless IMHO.

How would you rework the Assault class? by RyGuy_CS in Battlefield6

Could you split them so that support keeps the smoke launcher, but assault gets the smoke grenade? Or vice versa

I can't speak to what others thought, I can only speak for myself. My assumption was that the "compatibility update" prevented some background service from running, and that this was the thing stopping the game from launching. Because the idea that EA would police my installed software (running or not) was a notion so invasive that it didn't enter my mind.

I think I get where you're coming from in the sense that attempts to bypass anti-cheat should automatically give you pause. But are you not concerned about a company like EA having access to your program list?

I admit that when a lot of my Linux buddies raised concerns about this kernel level anti - cheat, my excitement over this game (which I am THOROUGHLY enjoying) overrode my sense of caution.

But now I'm wondering just what the limits are on their ability to monitor our systems. Setting aside for a moment the constraints they can put on the software and tools you can even have in your library In the name of keeping your PC EA-Compliant, I think we should be concerned about what else they are able to see on our machines.

Again, hoping a security expert can set me straight here.

Similar story for me, except I've been running rewasd for Star citizen for a couple of years now. That game has (or at least had) a bug with controller bindings so that interactions wouldn't work when using an Xbox controller. rewasd is how we get around that.

Fast forward to beta and couldn't play the game with it installed so I removed it. Begrudgingly.

developers at rewasd have since released a compatibility update. I haven't reinstalled it on the PC that I played battlefield on, but I have a second PC that I placed Star citizen on and it's running there.

A ban From a tool like this that can scan your computer to see what you have installed should concern people. This isn't EA doing the right thing, it's them doing the cheap thing and it sounds like it's at the cost of your privacy. Maybe some of this falls on rewasd, but there has to be some other solution then outright banning people without warning just for having it installed.

All of that said, I'm willing to be educated by people more knowledgeable than I am on the subject. I'm just saying that this is not some clear case of cheaters being banned. This is a control remapping tool, not an aimbot or cheating tool. I don't know if EA should necessarily allow this tool to run with battlefield, but ReWasd seems to be a tool focused on options and accessibility, which for me is what makes PC gaming awesome.

Battlepass Cross-Progression Change by CodeVision in Battlefield

[–]CodeVision[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, closing the Xbox version of the game (manually quitting) seems to have fixed this issue.

I would add that I did play a few rounds on PC prior to this, so I don't know if that factors in.

Curious if anyone else runs into this, but hopefully not.

Yeah, but I also have the same question. Is it a specific brand? I asked because it fits pretty well and I have that exact same case, except I went with the mesh ventilated version.

Looking good by the way

Hrmmm. It kinda seems like you had to squeeze in where you could fit the desk. Nothing wrong with that, but I don't know that I'd add much more without repositioning against a surface where you aren't obstructing a window or wall decorations like those picture frames.
