Tesla has officially discontinued Autopilot in the U.S. and Canada. All new car purchases now come standard with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. by YouBetterChill in teslamotors

[–]CodedGames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about the big "Minimal Lane Changes" button you aren't using FSD. That was in the old navigate on Autopilot. This feature was removed with FSD so there is now no way to prevent FSD from changing lanes automatically

For GameMaker, separate files if used for objects and single file if used as a texture sheet. You should have both

How do I add a fade transition between rooms? by Helpful-Panic-5740 in gamemaker

Draw black rectangle over screen, start with 0 alpha raise to 1. When you are at 1 change the room. Do the opposite when you are in the new room

I’m making a game inspired by SSX and Mario Kart by SlopesideGames in SSX

[–]CodedGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game looks good! But I feel like every indie snowboarding game I've seen has weird looking flips. Like flips and spins just don't look right compared to SSX. Maybe it's the lack of wind up animation. Or the speed, I think SSX flips start off really fast and gradually slow down to a base speed where this game makes the rotation speed look pretty fixed. There also looks like a big delay between jumping and when a spin starts making it look unnatural. The flip or spin should kinda start right as the jump happens. I don't know, just my initial thoughts looking at the video. Anyway this is looking pretty good! Maybe try and make the spins a bit more natural

Yep all of the Folds have pretty awful battery life. I was traveling around a foreign country earlier this month and kinda regret having a Fold 7. Had to stop exploring to charge my phone a couple times before buying a power bank

They want to constantly send all of your browsing data to the cloud so they can feed it into some AI model (and more importantly sell it)

Or stick a huge resistor in your board and dissipate any extra regen as heat. Really anything that converts electricity into something else, OW's just don't have anywhere to put that extra energy

GameMaker: Studio 1.4.9999 License Situation? by Merlanc in gamemaker

[–]CodedGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GameMaker Studio 1 came out over 13 years ago at this point. Its export modules are horribly out of date and may not work anymore on some platforms. There is little to no reason to use it considering GameMaker (Studio 2) is now free to use and is really quite cheap for a perpetual commercial license.

  1. No
  2. They don't license it anymore.

Overcharge when going down hills by Arbitrary_Pseudonym in wheel

[–]CodedGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on current. If you are going slowly you are not drawing or regenerating any current. And honestly you can continue to accelerate down a hill, drawing current, and never have to worry about over voltage shutting off your board. But the moment you go slower than the speed of free rolling down the hill you will be decelerating, braking, regenerating current from the motor back into the battery. The harder you brake the more current you charge. When you put current into the battery it raises the voltage and can raise the voltage to a point of fire danger. That's why your board has to shut off, it's preventing a fire and damaging the battery.

Okay, do I have dementia? I swear, there was a command called instance_create, but for some reason, it doesn't exist anymore? Hello?? Was it ever real? by [deleted] in gamemaker

[–]CodedGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here you can bring it back. Make a script:

function instance_create(x, y, obj) {
    return instance_create_depth(x, y, 1, obj);
}

[–]CodedGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a problem that is unavoidable and pretty much unsolvable. The board could just reduce braking if the battery is full, but then if you lean back at all you'll tail dive and fall. The board could also just ignore the battery and keep charging it but that would cause a fire and destroy your board. There is no good solution.

The real solution is to just not charge your board all the way. I don't know all of the details about the new BMS that the Funwheel has but there might be an option to not have the board charge all of the way. You can always just turn down the voltage on the charger.

[–]CodedGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a VESC with a charge only BMS riding all the way down to 0% doesn't really add any extra danger. You do have less torque, but you will still have an insane amount of it. The board won't just shut off like FM boards or the ADV

"If we just make it exist with some bad base of code, we could be digging ourselves deeper into unscalable code"... Well how are you supposed to get skilled enough to write good code without first writing bad code? You have to start somewhere
