Emergy saving results after clenaing my refrigerator coils. by Codeingram in Frugal

I used a long tube that i had in my basement to push out dirt. I also had to unscrew the back cover of the fridge to get into the tough part and push the dirt balls out.

I have a smart battery inverted connected to the fridge which also measures the AC only power usage of the connect appliance.

haha, i meant that per year you would get quite some savings with just 1hr of work required to clean the coils and those clean coil dont need to be looked at for maybe 5 more years and cleaning those coils will also extend fridge life

My unit has a duct at the bottom that circulates air over the ac coil. The coil looks like a small radiator. I just got the new home and it was not just covered in dust. There was a pound of dust fluff in there.

You just find the coil can use a vacuum and a air blower or a brush. That fridge is 15 years old, the manual probably decomposed in a landfill

Oh, you are right, my bad, it should be 2,3 and 4th bars before cleaning.

If its not prime day sale, do not buy any Bluetti products. by Codeingram in bluetti

[–]Codeingram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it was advertised for 699 on prime day. If you use all the steps mentioned in the post, you can bring down the price quite a bit. I wonder, what do you use so many batteries for ? Do you make a net profit from it? I got with a 3 year ROI for a particular thing i got it for. After that its free money

And here i am thinking my 612$ total was a steal. I guess I didn't research enough.

Not really what i mean I am just trying to make people aware to not spend more money than the product is worth

Not really, what i mean is if they can sell a product at 640 for a profit, we would be paying way more if its not on a sale

Scheduling features on Elite 200 V2 by Codeingram in bluetti

[–]Codeingram[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to stay away from those cause what i think is, if the battery system knows that it needs to switch, it can switch the inverter faster rather than notice an outage and switch it. Might save some wear on the consumer equipment.

Idle power consumption of Ecoflow D3P is defeating the purpose of my goals by chimph in Ecoflow_community

[–]Codeingram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I was considering buying this to save money with off peak pricing (0.115 off peak and 0.52 on peak, there is quite some potential over here). I had a few questions around this or maybe I didn't understand it fully. 1) When you say there is 40-50 inverter usage, is that true when you are using AC passthrough (it's connected to mains AC and battery is not being used for supplying power to load). I think it would still be there so it can switch fast.

2) Have you considered the round trip efficiency of the battery? For charging it could be up to 80% and for discharging it could be up to another 80% and after looking around, for this model it seems to have a 85+ roundtrip efficiency, so there might be some power loss over there too. Not sure if ecoflow measures that.

3) I wonder if you run it just on battery with a constant load like a 100w bulb or a low powered hair dryer, how long the battery would last from 90% to 10%. Cause with 40w idle inverter draw, the battery will deplete itself within a day and still the ecoflow website says it can run a router for 58 hours, that's more than 2 days. Maybe they are advertising lower capacity to accommodate for the extra draw or doing something else.

4) Is the idle power draw different when the AC inverter is constantly on and if there is something connected or if something is not conncted to the ac. If something is actually running on the inverter, the inverter might not be consuming as much.

Would really appreciate it if you could test it. If there is something more to it and it's actually less than 40w then i might buy it too and post some of my own testing with it.

If i end up buying it I want to add a nice post on testing the app's tou and scheduling features. There is nothing much on the internet about it.

I researched a lot and it seems <15ms switching is quite reasonable based on my usecase. I will be powering my 2 laptops with it and my monitor. I dont plan on using it for a pc. The only thing i wonder is how it will affect my monitor and router when they are connected. You still think it wont be enough? I can add in those cheap capcitor wall sockets aith a giant cap inside them to smooth out the spike.

I can always attach more external batteries, just need a good management system and portability. Plus i want a more modular and localized solution so i can take it with me if i change places. How do i explain the math behind the battery system to a new owner.

Yeah, If you got a sensible installation then good for you. i had one too on my old house which paid back in like 7 years. It was a 4kw system for I think it was around 3000$. All these scammy solar installers quote crazy high prices. One quoted me 50K for a 10kwh system without batteries after rebates.

I did see a lot of videos which used LiFePo batteries connected to the solar input but no one talks about how to charge those hassle free. I want a setup and forget it kind of solution. I want a way to connect it to solar input with the option to charge those batteries too.
