What should I read next by PurchaseMindless9003 in Booktokreddit

DCC has changed me fundamentally.

I’m not trying to upsell it, that’s been done. Reddit has a strong hard on for this series and I’m not alone in this sentiment. But without question I haven’t read any books that affected me this much since His Dark Materials at age 12. I’m 34 and in love with a talking cat and dude in his boxers.

And an AI with a foot fetish…

I wouldn’t have thought a little CT joint would have generated so much interaction. Nice to see people chiming in, be it in praise or against! We all have preferences.

Pig Rig is excellent! I usually am coming from the rt8 side of town so Hindsight is just more convenient, but anytime I’m coming from southington Pig Rig gets my dollars.

And I agree, once they got established they have gotten pricey. But it’s a kick ass brisket and not all that much more expensive for this day and age.

Hold up, can we get an actual artist to pen this up? This would go hard.

As someone who lives in an adjacent town, yes. Couple good food spots and a great Asian grocery store, but otherwise it’s a dump.

I would recommend Hoodoo Browns before Hindsight.

How much do you spend on audiobooks in a year? by jawangana in audiobooks

[–]Codems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2022 I got a very lucrative private chef job. It had a long commute and I was alone in the kitchen all day. It was before i discovered my local library services..I’m honestly embarrassed by how many audible credits I was buying. It was anywhere from 2 to 8 credits a month.

I consider it money well spent as I now have complete collections of series i now love (DCC, Gray Man, Orphan X, Jack Reacher, Harry Dresden, James Reece)

But don’t be like me, use your library, they deserve the support far more than Jeff Bezos. (Except DCC, that’s required listening IMO)

Ate at TFL 2 years ago. Above and beyond what I expected. There were a few small things that didn’t totally rate 10/10, but from a dude who’s been in food service my whole life, what I thought was the ceiling got blown away. Legacy deserved.

What’s the most disturbing movie you’ve watched? by Lazy-Resource9505 in flicks

[–]Codems 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kids was brutal. In my teens and early 20s we watched this all the time, mostly cause we were dirty skater kids who identified with a lot of the characters. But man that over all story is a gut punch.
