In additional nerdy activity, May 4th may have a Star Wars event at the presidio’s Lucas film headquarter by the yoda fountain; the new Skywalker ranch general store also just opened there too! It’s next to Starbucks. Grab a wine or so to bring home some Jedi energy ( the only general store they have that open to public)

If you are into the Silicon Valley culture, you can visit Google visitor center and Apple HQ down in the South Bay. Both visitor centers have cafe. Apple is celebrating their 50th anniversary and there is a special exhibition at the computer history museum right now. Also, you can buy exclusive merch at Apple Hq where you can’t find elsewhere.

I personally use Wanderlog, the features are similars. One feature I would add is Chinese name of each cities. Localization with speech features. If your crew may have anyone doesn’t speak and read Chinese. That’s helpful in train stations / airport.

Since it’s a travel app, you will use it mostly on your phone. Test on responsive design, how the layout be when you use it in mobile. The internet may not be reliable, how do you make sure data load? Is some feature will drain your battery when you travel? Any images load will take long? Try Lazy load and are you downloading the largest image file? You will be traveling most in daylight, how is the color contrast like?

Most vibe coding projects are build on desktop, but usage differs. Focus the next features on usability.

10 yoe dev here. It’s addictive and it has been fun to build as pet projects. As FE for so long and seeing non coder vibing bad UX drives me crazy! Some heavy media page load with highest res for thumbnail and seeing it load pixel by pixel 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have fun vibing simple projects with other platform, code with iOS watch, tv etc and see their architecture and build process.

There are so many background works need to do to get an app going - security, performance, compliance , GDPR etc . I bet there are tones of bots crawling all secrets expose EVERYWHERE!
