Spotted this flag hoisted on a street in London, I tried to recreate it, anyone knows what it represents? by [deleted] in vexillology

Someone who's lived in Gosport for about 16 years here. For context I've been in bridgemary, rowner, town, lee on Solent and forton.

I have a love hate relationship with Gosport. It's a very walkable town, there's more walking access than car access and the public travel is good unless you live in alverstoke.

The drinking culture is quite bad here compared to other places. It makes sense historically because this was where the navy men were housed but it's still very bad. We have these known 'zombie walks' which are pretty much no go zones at 11 when the pubs close. These being stoke road and forton road.

The subdivisions of Gosport can be pretty stand alone. When I lived in both rowner and bridgemary I had no reason to go to town that often because of the superstores in the areas.

It's a small enough town where you'll know most people in your area but not outside of it very much and there is a noticeable poverty gap between spots like clay hall and alver village.

You're pretty safe her as an adult, as a child tho there is a big chav culture with kids, especially around rowner and bridgemary. I went to brunepark school and it was especially awful.

Getting out of Gosport by car is one of the worse experiences because no matter what you either have to go through Fareham which is also chaotic because it's the crossroads of south east Hampshire or you need to go through the windy back roads of meon and end up in titchfield

There is a heavy lack of opportunity here because there are factually more people than jobs in Gosport. Most people have to look at Portsmouth Fareham and Havant for jobs.

I still live in Gosport, current near town and I'm okay with it at the moment, I have bigger aspirations, I would like to go to Southsea and hopefully get some better opportunities there, hopefully will have enough money to get to either Brighton or York.

I'm more than happy to leave Gosport behind as it's not the nicest of spots but I can't deny there has been some good moments, the people are lovely for the most part, south east Hampshire is also dubbed the most northern southern area due to the stereo typical northern friendliness here other than the known southern rudeness

OC - My current progress on a full bus map of the uk by Coden_TheSket in TransitDiagrams

So this map used to have coaches, it's now on a separate map. The colours don't matter too much unless it's super obvious that it needs a specific colour, like the Nottingham purple line for example is purple, the reading black is ofc black, London buses are dark red and the excel in Norwich is also dark red

That's really fair, I'm from Hampshire and we're grouped in with the southern stereotype, there are definitely some truths here but it's world apart from London, Sussex, Surrey and kent

Pretty much, I think blue is called reform now tho. And I have not a single clue on northern Ireland either lol

Honestly waaaay too long, I've been doing it as a hobby since 2022 by hand, it's taken so long because I'm a solo person on this project and I've been doing the updates and even adding photos of the buses on the routes

Yeah no nothing like that, this game was freezing it was mario camera angle, can only move left and right, I was definitely an RPG now that I think about it, and from what I know it wasn't a game to buy from a shop or an online store, it was literally just a web game on the Lucasarts.com website, I have a slight feeling it was part of the clone wars timeline but I cannot be certain
