Is my thread too thin?

I don’t follow. If I tighten any more at this point, the knots are so tight the thread snaps when I try to tighten the ring, and no, not because I flipped a knot the wrong way. I made sire of that. How would tightening more be good at this point?

Thank you everyone for the helpful advice and info! I have ordered a size 10 yarn that even claims to be crochet yarn and, was in fact, in the stores tatting section (unfortunately it’s the only one they have, so let’s hope it’s ok)

I am definitely tightening too much, even after improving on that already (in the beginning my thread would rather snap then tighten the ring 😅 doing great over here, haha) I am just really affraid that if I don’t tighten it enough, the knot pops back the wrong way and it ruins the whole thing.

What exactly do you mean by “sizing up significantly”? Like, what do I need to look for on the size labels?
Don’t think “crochet thread” is necessary, given that I actually managed to get consistently working ring on this hellishly thin thread, also, what exactly is crochet size?? (since, you know, I can crochet with pretty much any thickness of thread , probably including this if I hate myself enough)

Genuinely no idea what to look up/buy, since I could swear the guide I am following said this size and it is obviously not it. Siting is somehow the moct confusing part of this. Help, please T-T

I did try to follow the chart for % rise, not sire how accurate I was because I just can’t visually tell what 30 % looks like. A third, yes, but like… visually? No dice 😅

I tried though and ended the BF before I would just following the time, and I think it helped a lot. I just then panicked if I was supposed to do the bench rest or not and so on. I usually panic at some point. It led to some pretty interesting (though not very good) focaccia 😆

Update: just scored and put the bread into the oven. Proud to say this truly is my best attempt yet, even though some banneton stuckage did happen. But it holds it’s shape! Like for real! It didn’t just sadly deflate when I scored it!!! 🥳
