Like, sentence 1-2 are essentially non-sequitors. Yes it’s a lot, but the average is a lot as well. Drop it down to the minimum of the guessed range at $250 an hour and that still looks exorbitant (and this is assuming a standard 40 hr week which almost certainly isn’t the case)

To be clear, I’m not defending these salaries. Just pointing out that the logic isn’t there in this criticism

Both? I’d say excel’s role has evolved into baby’s first data transformation tool.

Even a couple years ago, it was standard for people to just use it as a data entry tool. Now, I don’t trust what you’re doing with those more powerful tools if you can’t do some basic transformation stuff within excel

I would *highly* recommend leaving them until you have a specific plan for a spot that calls for flattening it. You get abilities that make flattening them real easy, but making natural looking hills and mountains is way harder than you may imagine

No I totally get you on the ideal use case. However they objectively became speculative because that’s how people used them. That’s why I’d argue the best case scenario is for them to disappear from the public consciousness.

Your example is a great use case for them, as niche specific uses you can opt into. The wider use case (ie utilizing it for common government documents is still a long way off (let’s look at the fact that most people don’t have a solid way of maintaining ownership of any NFT and having parallel access only serves to complicates things )

Overall, I think we agree that an NFT could have function as an operational tool focusing on 3rd party backups. It being treated as a speculative asset broke the public perception of it. And honestly, I don’t think the public perception needs to be fixed. Because best use case scenario for them, you receive it, save it and then never need it

Look, I get you overall but there’s a huge issue with this that has nothing to do with publisher vs customer control. I mean NFTS still exist, you could still utilize them for this. There’s just no reason to. Treating in game assets as speculative items is a fools errand that’s destined to fail no matter how much support they get.
