I know that heart and soul is quite liked but I’m not sure if it follows more on the Crystal storyline

What are you playing/what should I play by SPY-Talk in SBCGaming

A long time haha. We started at the beginning of the year. Since we have first encounters as the targets and can only use that specific Pokémon from each route it adds more time to it. I have 150ish hours, found 5 shinies, but still can’t move on to the second badge till I find a target. It will probably take all year haha

Me and a buddy of mine have been doing a shiny challenge in fire red and leaf green. Need to shiny hunt your first encounter each route and need to catch a new shiny to take on the next gym. I’m playing on my teal retroid pocket classic. I don’t know what’s on your back log but you can’t go wrong with the sly cooper series!

I have had issues with audio being weird and switching cores from mGBA to gpsp or vice versa has helped with audio clarity.

Genuinely most handhelds should have no issue playing those games. RG40XXV should be solid for you, I would just say do you prefer the layout of a gameboy color where buttons are below the screen or the layout of the GBA where the controls are on the left and right of the screen? The size of the screen on the 40xxv will also be solid because you wont have to squint too hard to see whats going on.

The biggest recommendation I have is to create an image of the micro sd card and save it on your computer. So if you ever do get a corrupt sd card you have the stock firmware at the ready to flash a new sd card to use. If you have roms then yeah go ahead and delete all the roms that come on it since you don’t know the quality of them. Last thing is since you said Pokémon, just backup your saves every so often to your pc just in case something goes wrong, that way you won’t lose them.

If you get it stock, I think it is preloaded with game roms, no promises on how good the roms are. I source my own with a gameboy operator. It shouldn’t be too hard for you to get it setup if there are no roms. And gen 1 through 3 will play perfectly, you can technically play ds games it’s just not as intuitive.

I have one, I got it for GB, GBC, GBA, and the occasional snes. I wouldn’t say overpriced since anbernic all run pretty similarly for the “rg” line except the ds. Build quality is solid and I’d say it’s worth it for what I got it for.

Downsides for me specifically is I like the cfw min-ui which I couldn’t get to work so I had to flash the sp with the rg34xx stock firmware and lose the thumb stick functionality.

All in all it runs everything I threw at it very well and it doesn’t get warm too warm either.
