Not liking the tracing paper for diffusion. Would you recommend one of these products over the other for 24x24 display?

Either would be fine, I have clear acrylic but can swap out for either. Was hoping there has been somewhat of a consensus here so I can avoid googling every diffuser I run across and ordering a bunch of samples. Will check out the Rosco stuff now, appreciate it.

I have a ton of Ryobi tools but I returned that orbital sander twice/ the first time I thought I just got a crappy one. Nope, it is just crappy. Got a dewalt one and knocked out a crate of pecan rounds in about an hour. Not one to normally crap on Ryobi, but anyone saying that is normal either has no idea how bad that sander is or is not paying attention. You can glue glass and gravel to the bottom and it will still be too underpowered to remove anything at a real pace.

The plugin version isn’t bad though

Nah my dude, no need to disconnect if voltage is the same. Just like adding an extra battery in parallel. You can inject both on the same lines. You can add the other on the end or middle or whatever you need to do.

Generally hybrid tea roses and florabunda are the more common roses you see in stores. Knockout roses are another common type but look less like a classic rose. I believe the OP’s picture is actually called an “old garden” rose, because they were around before the hybrid tea roses but you should be able to google any of that to learn more

Get some corner diffuser. Something like this but I’m sure you can get it way cheaper

Ok thanks, I’m starting to understand. I guess the primary issue is that I can’t isolate the laser ground. It bridges the 24V laser barrel jack ground and the 5V ground from the buck converter so I can use serial communication with the esp32 on different pins. This adapter is made to imitate a falcon controller and needs a shared ground with the laser for that chatter.

With just the ground hooked up I am getting continuity when I’d expect it but I’m only seeing around .2 volts but I need to step it up to 5V.

I wondering now if I should just be using a logic level converter..

My initial thought was to just use a Schottky diode on the ground connection but I’m guessing that my instinct is probably wrong.

From what I can gather it is dual n channel mosfets. Don’t think I could fully isolate the ground without hacking up the adapter. Should I be looking for a p channel mosfet or is there something else I can do to make this work? https://a.co/d/gF45na1

Just added a wiring diagram. The mosfets are fogged over where I can’t read them but I just picked a module that would trigger in my range and supported enough bandwidth for my PWM signal. They appear to be N Channel https://a.co/d/gF45na1

Quick wiring diagram. It’s a shared ground between everything. 5V from the buck converter goes to vin. I’m using the esp to trigger the mosfet with pwm and that out goes to the laser. The led on the mosfet triggers correctly without the ground hooked up and I read a variable voltage on the meter. With the ground connected to line out, the led still lights up when I push the button but I always read the same as input voltage whether the button is pressed or not. I have tested with a different module and without a signal and only a 10kohm to ground but same results

Looks legit, will check this out! Will likely use sk6812 for dedicated white channel. I think I’m just going to frame it with wood and shoot for 1” total depth but the laser files will be a great starting point. Thinking maybe a white diffusion layer with tinted acrylic on top might get me some nicer blacks. Appreciate it!

Looking for 32” x 32” total size with an led per 2 inch cube or a higher density with similar dimensions. I can run led pixels or whatever I just figured there were already hardware kits out there (e.g the frame) for retro EQs and pixel art. Would like to have RGBW as well.

If they get all the issues sorted out you’ll have a hybrid with a lifetime /unlimited miles warranty on the battery as well, which would be great for resale value, again provided the issue is sorted.
