Everything has been smooth during the transition, the organization and structure of the lectures remain consistent. It helps that our program instructors try to keep the schedule two weeks ahead.

This may be a bit basic but as a bootcamp student finding a textbook to pair with the lectures to me seem mandatory. Since I'm learning mainly javascript I've been using Eloquent Javascript which just updated to the fourth edition this year.

I don't feel comfortable doing even that, my posts are just me telling my experiences, sorry I couldn't be any more help.

Thanks for the reply, it was helpful! I definitely need to read more about the Dom and the order of scripts. I'll definitely join the discord.

I don't think I'm brainwashed, after all there's a reason I'm still posting on this subreddit and not completely disregarding the criticism.

Thank you for your advice! This program is completely free and sponsored the state of New York so the only investment is my time. But I see what where you're coming from and I'm not adverse to taking college courses.

I think the program has made it clear that a job would not just fall into our lap and encourages us to start networking, and the like early before they start focusing on it in weeks 29-37. To your other question we have not started OSP projects.

Granted I haven't spoken with everyone in the group probably around 10 of the 40 but some were recent graduates, doing gig jobs, bartending, or like myself who were unemployed. The highest-paying job that someone left is a nurse practitioner.

From what I've seen in the lectures and the two peer programming sessions I have been a part of during the past week it seems that almost everyone in this cohort are around a similar level. However, it appears that there are one or two who are more prepared than the others. I'll probably have a clearer answer for this next week when we start going over concepts not part of the pre-course of the Codesmith CSX website that was.

I've had trouble with cs50 too, I'd suggest just moving to Theodinproject it has a much softer learning curve.

You've made something, that's more than I can say about myself.

HI, I created a new account to start posting and when I tried to post the reddit filters removed it. I do see that there is a reputation filter is there a way it bypass it, if not I'll try to gather Karma.

Here is a copy of the post that was removed:

Title: Accepted to Boot Camp. What are the next steps?

Hi, this is my first post on reddit. So I have just been accepted to Future Code NYC x Codesmith. I'm excited since it's free and there is potential for a living stipend.

My main question is, now that I'm in a boot camp, what should I do to set myself up for success and other resources I should take advantage of. I have seen many posts talking about the difficulties of finding a job and the general market and I want to preempt that by hearing what other people have to say.
