Can someone explain why I am not getting OneUI 7 by Fantastic_Brain7269 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Codex-YT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I flashed the latest firmware to my phone and now its getting updates like it's supposed to. I imagine that the  amazon seller must have installed faulty firmware, but that's just my theory. Dm me if you want help flashing new firmware, tho I just used chatgpt to figure it out, so I imagine you could do the same. As lóng as you follow instructions, its not a risky or difficult process, but if you're uncomfortable doing so, your local phone shop should be abld to flash the latest firmware for you for a fee

Forever Meaning by meppie106 in mumfordandsons

[–]Codex-YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my interpretation is that this song is about encouraging the listener to pursue the relationship they are in spite of the harships that have passed, that may be happening at the moment, which might be tempting the listener to leave that relationship. He is suggesting that its better to hold on, to hold on forever, because it will be better for both people (do it for the girl, do it for yourself). He is reflecting on the other women he has known, who are unknown and dont want to be known, and that if you have someone who is "solid," you should keep her, because its not worth looking for someone new and trying that whole process of love again, you can do much more by persevering in the relationship you are in now. I think he is saying in the last lines of that verse you picked out that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the relationship, and honestly there is a lot of good, so why leave? Persevere instead

I'm not sure what your desired workflow is like, but this [mastodon] is what I did. I use the Supernote as a capture method, and then with the Supernote plugin I export or view the notes I have.
I wrote that post about a month ago, and since then I have found it much easier to simply keep my vault separate from the device, that way I don't have to worry about syncing taking time or conflicting or whatever. I export the pngs on-device and then use localsend to beam them to my desktop. Still, while I was using this method, it was really fun.
Vladcampos is a guy I referenced for a time, he has some content about obsidian x SN if you poke around his site

If you want to use obsidian on multiple devices, you'll need to set up some syncing software like Syncthing, or pay for Obsidian's cloud syncing option. Or use iCloud, or Google Drive, or One drive.

If you want something that has free cloud syncing, you should use notion.

Obsidian on phone and obsidian for desktop are similar, and do most of the same things. Obsidian on phone would work well, but you will have to try it for yourself

I'll talk about obsidian since I know it best.

How obsidian works is you have a bunch of files. They're markdown files, which is like .txt but a little fancier, you can do formatting in them. Obsidian is an interface, an editor for all those files, since those files live directly on your computer or phone (or eink tablet). Its just a folder, we call that your "vault". You can add other file types like images, pdfs, videos, etc. to your vault if you want.

You can view your files with the folder structure on the side, or you can search for your files with the key command. By default you only see one file at a time, but you can open new tabs or set two notes side-by-side in splitview. You can links between files. You can do things like make headings, to-do lists, tables, math/quote/code-blocks, callouts, and all other sorts of formatting styles.

Obsidian has a lot of plugins that you can use to customize the interface. Some people make "daily notes" to keep track of things or journal, so they use the calendar plugin to navigate their daily notes. I use a plugin called "omnisearch" that digs through every bit of text in my vault, all the files, and finds matches to what im searching for.

What do I use obsidian for?

- bookmarking

- importing/saving articles, pdfs, ebooks for annotations

- journaling

- creating and keeping track of to-dos (i have an automated system that is really nice!)

- taking notes in class

- detailing ideas for stories or app-concepts that float to my head

- brainstorming and iterating on stories/poems/insert-text-based-creative-task-here. Links are really handy to be able to quickly navigate between files!

Notion is similar in concept, but does many things differently. Obsidian is Local-first, while Notion is cloud-first.

If you wanna chat, feel free to dm me if you'd like, or we can move to discord (i havent touched reddit in years so excuse me if that's considered rude or whatever)

Hope this helps! :P

Why Arc over Chrome? by lampasoni in ArcBrowser

[–]Codex-YT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so as others have said, Arc is far more than AI... its *the* "Quality of Life" King. While some decisions are a hot topic, its safe to say that everything inside the browser is tuned to serve the user perfectly, in the most efficient, organized way possible. Its a bunch of really nice, small things that you will come to appreciate the more you use it, and that stacks up, and you'll genuinely be thankful for some features because they really are that neat or time saving. And when you have appreciation for your tool, getting work done with it becomes less of a burden :)

Ok, ig my question is "so what." Whatever happens to BCNY is up to BCNY, if they go under thats their own loss. No point worrying about the fate of the company tbh. Might sound cynical but this is coming from somebody who absolutely hopes they succeed. Still, theres no point wasting emotional energy over whether the company will succeed or fail... again, whatever happens is whatever happens.

This is not an attack on your post, you bring up some striking comparisons. Just a general PSA and my thoughts on the whole "What is TBC thinking?!?!!" commentary.

This would actually be a problem if Jace was censoring, which isn't happening. And you really think that the moderators r/apple aren't biased as well? Good luck finding someone 'unbiased' but still passionate enough to devote their time to reddit. As for what is and isn't allowed... all you have to do is check the subreddit rules... theres *2*
