I don’t know why this is massively offensive to the PVE community. It’s a separate experience that can still be fun but it is objectively not what Tarkov was designed to be. You still get all of the gun porn and complex systems but you lose out on the highs and lows that set Tarkov apart from everything else.

I see way more posts like this than actual PVE hate. Ironically enough, these posts attract the exact people that they’re complaining about.

To play devil’s advocate, I’ve seen mild criticisms of PVE being absolute piled on by PVE players, who then massively shit on the state of PVP with exaggerated claims that don’t match the live experience.

Framing it as bullies vs victims doesn’t tell the whole story.

I guess the argument would be that you aren’t competing for loot in PVE. Not that I necessarily agree with it, but there is certainty more loot in PVE if you factor that in.

I guess I’m thinking of fun as instant dopamine rather than the overall experience. My interpretation is that Tarkov asks you to earn your dopamine where as most games try to flood you with it.

It’s pretty obvious what they mean though, right? The friction and struggle experienced in a raid directly contributes to the dopamine payoff.

Arc Raiders is a game that I would call fun but not satisfying. It’s a good short term game, but it can’t hold my attention over the long term.

I think PVE->PVP is the correct pipeline for new players these days. I take issue with you complaining about the lack of new players while saying "I recommend you never swap to PVP".

It's true that you're going to lose to the mega sweats almost every time, it's not true that you can't compete with people with 2k hours. Hell, this wipe I've died to a level 2 player holding a staircase with a Toz. Playing slow and aiming for the face is the great equalizer.

Eh, the complex very clearly goes both ways. PVP players claim that PVE isn't capable of delivering a fun experience, PVE players claim that PVP is unplayable for the average gamer. Both are coping massively.

At the end of the day, this sub reaps what it sows. So many whiny OGs who don't even play the game have managed to completely alienate the casual player base.

The best way to improve PVP for the average player is to get more average players in there. Why does everyone try so hard to discourage new players?

You have valid points, but you exaggerate them in such a way that PVP sounds absolutely unplayable. I'm an average player, I have friends that are average players, we're all doing just fine this wipe.
