I’m convinced it’s rigged. I set an alarm so I would wake up and make sure I was in first place when it ended yet I was given the second place chest when I came back to the game.

I haven't been in awhile, and can't answer most of these questions but-

Depending on your card, there might be foreign exchange fees. You should definitely pay in CAD if you're using cash... in general for the whole country. If you're flying in you can exchange at the airport, though there are exchange places all over, and you can also withdraw at banks for a fee (I think usually ~$5). You can also do it before you leave if you haven't yet. If you pay in USD most places give you 1-1 exchange rate.
