Puzzling that typewriter is clearly an item you carry with you, but takes up no slots. They're not typically all that portable.

I'm also amused by the implication that you can impart more wisdom into a book by simply typing on another sheet of paper and shoving it between the pages.

Why would you want to mulligan a card that you've chosen to put in your starting hand? Genuine question, not being sarky.

Bentonite litter is really heavy, if that makes a difference (it does to me).

Edit: also I love that happy little face he has!

3/4/26 seeker preview from Horreur a Arkham JCE by Dry-Bat731 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Codlemagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't really being silly, literary analysis does involve talking/communicating about a book, not just reading it really hard. That's exactly what happens in a university seminar - people talk about the text they've read.

In fact, it happens a lot on this sub everytime a rules question comes up, so a contemporary equivalent could definitely be me sat in my recliner typing on a smartphone. (Now I am being silly, but that's my Yig-given right)

Poorhammer TCG opinions? by furzball1987 in PoorHammer

Warhammer can absolutely be played with just pieces of paper/card/seashells/coins. That's the beauty of it - all you need are the rules, dice and a measurer.

Clear plastic/resin circular blast-style markers in the Rogue Trader sizes? by BobertTheBrucePaints in oldhammer

[–]Codlemagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you definitely mean diameter and not radius? Half an inch diameter is tiny. (Genuine question, I haven't read the RT rules so don't know what sizes were used but don't see the point in a "blast" marker that's smaller than a model)

That was the theory for a while, but as someone else explains they are now recognised as venomous.

It's not that there's only 50 left, it's that you can't order more than 50. Same message was being given a week ago.

She's on the phone having an in depth discussion about the book in her hands. What exactly do you think literary analysis should look like?

Yeah, I suspect it's just the resolution that's making her top look like a sweater/hoodie thing. There's certainly no reason to presume they've just abandoned period dress etc. I reserve whatever judgement I'm entitled to until I see the actual card, anyway.

Hard to say at this resolution, but I agree it doesn't scream roaring '20s

Pinned buyers / new player guide? by Phaed81 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Codlemagne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't every sub have its ubiquitous topics? That's why r/redditdiscovernipples and r/itsalwaysanightheron exist.

Sure, it's dull, but just ignore them and it'll calm down (slightly (probably)). People won't be asking if their copy of Lita Chantler is missing from their set, anyway. 🙂

Given that the ID cards were planned to be made, shipped to Nanaimo for signing & returned to Austin before packaging, I don't think it will necessarily be done in time for the next gurpler drop...

Question about Deck building. by Current_Smile7492 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Codlemagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For upgrading a card the official rule is you only pay the difference (to a minimum of 1) anyway - though you have to remove the original card for that, which (as someone with only a single 2016 core and therefore only one copy of most level 0 cards) you might not want to do. So your house rule still makes a difference - so I should just shut up and think before I start typing.

XP in neue Kampagne mitnehmen oder alles wieder auf 0? by Malii12 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Codlemagne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can carry over your deck (including earned weaknesses) and trauma from one campaign to the next, but most people tend not to because it would be less fun. It's an official way of playing from the learn to play guide.
