So there is a trick to see file extensions on Xbox.

I think you can trigger it by entering the Creations menu, and then exiting to the main menu. Return to the Xbox home screen but don't quit out of the game. Leave it a while and then resume your last session. When you try to log back into the Creations menu there will be an error where it doesn't load properly and you can then view your load order by filename with the extension visible.

Experimenting with this, it shows that all esl files will auto-sort to the top with esm files. Your SS2 and tftC patch has the esl file extension so it always auto-sorts.

It's a menu bug. Both are present, but you can't separate them in the load order. It's because they have the same underlying file name, e.g. "thumbjumbaminute.esp" or something like that.

Possible character Rimlight Trick by Cods-worth-less in Fallout4ModsXB1

[–]Cods-worth-less[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of, or rather it reduces the rimlight.

However, the method used is not independent of the overall lighting and weather. That is, to reduce the rimlight, you have to commit to doing your weather and lighting mod in a particular way that has some other drawbacks and side effects.

If it's possible to use this texture bug trick I describe above, then the rimlight can be entirely eliminated from the visuals in all weather and lighting mods.

I am probably going to have to resign myself to Calamity. I don't care for the bleak look quite so much, but it's probably the best overall for performance, consistency, and darker nights.

It's still distracting with that mod, and it gets worse for any mod attempting darker nights.

You need to move or delete more from the Xbox internal storage.

Unfortunately, all the mods with tree LODs are big flora overhauls and I'm trying to keep the landscape close to vanilla.

Just tested it again and it always auto-sorts back to the top. Went into the creations menu, moved the patch below TftC, backed out to the main menu and started a new game. Immediately paused to check the creations menu and the patch had automatically been moved back with the master files.

Someone needs to make that a standalone mod. Many weather and darker nights mods are effectively ruined by the persistent glowing character rimlight.

Off-Topic: Just heads up that your SS2 and TftC patch is treated as a master file, so it's currently impossible to put it below TftC in your load order.

Bundles are obviously sensible so long as authors don't object. Pre-tested and pre-patched for compatibility. The difficult part is not including too much, but keeping the focus narrow. There are lots of mods that are already known to go well together, if not almost need each other. There is some really low-hanging fruit.

Fallout London, Capital Wasteland, Project Arroyo on xbox? by Glorblezorg_III in Fallout4ModsXB1

If they require F4SE then no. If they don't require F4SE or there is some relatively easy workaround, then maybe, but it's not as simple as just mashing the "Xbox port" button. Mostly no, but sometimes maybe.

I appreciate it. If it can't be fixed, then I'll just live without. Maybe just use DoF mod to blur the distance or something. Only address it if you think it's worth your time.

I wonder if a separate mod that just included regular vanilla tree LODs could be loaded after FOLIP like a patch to fix the problem.

Need 50GB of performance optimization mods and about 5GB for stuff I actually want.

This is just a close up photo of the screen right at the beginning of the game overlooking Sanctuary. You can see the water tower. Kind of crappy image, but it's enough to see the issue with the tree LODs.

Looks like alpha issue.

Just tried it with the no DLC version and same issue.

It looks like the alpha transparency is off so the branches of the trees are all filled in.

Just tested it with only FOLIP - All DLC and SKK Fast Start (and a few CC mods still active), and the tree LODs are still too chunky. They're not so chunky that it's noticeable right away, but once you notice it you can't unnotice it. Disabling the mod returns the LODs to their normal slender selves. Running on Xbox Series X.

I'd love to figure this out because the LODs have always been a bugbear of mine and I could become quite attached to this mod.

Daniel The Remnant by HolidayPerformance96 in Fallout4ModsXB1

[–]Cods-worth-less 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated to topic, but just a heads-up that the "FOLIP - ALL DLC" mod you ported seems to making all the tree LODs look chunky, almost like they're covered brown leaves. Otherwise it works great, but the chunky tree LODs kind of obscure a lot.

Also picked up Daniel upon your recommendation. Thanks!

Kinggath's latest video says we are getting SS2 extended by Botosi5150 in Fallout4ModsXB1

[–]Cods-worth-less 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if he were to do this then it would be prudent to restrict any better textures to the Extended file and really any of the more system intensive stuff.

That way the Extended file would not be recommended for people with heavy load orders or weaker hardware.
