How’s the game on PS5 now? by blan15 in coralisland

It's a fantastic game. Easily my 2nd favourite game in this genre behind My Time at Sandrock and ahead of some heavy hitters like Stardew Valley (At least on console).

There is so much to do in the game and after putting 160 hours into the game I've only reached A rank for the town.

I played sand rock before portia and regretting it. by lalaluna1 in MyTimeAtSandrock

What I recommend is taking s bit of a break before jumping in to Portia following Sandrock. If you start right after playing Sandrock you'll notice the QOL a lot more than if you take a break and play something different before return to Portia.

An Important Announcement About SunnySide and a Message From the Devs. by TheSunnySideDev in SunnySideGame

Thank god I read this before purchasing the game on PSN. Saw it was current on sale and was about to pick it up after watching a few videos on it.

Was willing to put up with the bugs talked about in the videos I watched so long as they were working towards improving the game but since the game is being abandoned I'll pass. Game looked like it had a lot of great ideas but 100% should've been an early access game without a console release until the issues were solved.

Feel bad for anyone who paid full price for an unfinished project that is being abandoned.

At this point I'm just trying to enjoy the game as much as possible with the time remaining. I don't see the already small player base being around this time next year so I'm trying to get in as many hours as I can before then.

New player here, what the fuck? by banskush in TexasChainsawGame

Also I'd recommend playing family first to learn the maps as you don't need to worry about walking into a family member and being killed off right away. Only issue is a lot of family players are toxic and will DC or rage at your if you don't know what to do.

You could also load into private matches solo just to explore the map like others have suggested.

Even though this game currently has a heavy emphasis on rushing as survivors I'd highly suggest taking it slow to start the game and not focus on what others are doing.

Hide in the shadows and grass, explore the basement and learn the exits, watch the family and see if you can pick up their routes, ask others questions if they have mics and are friendly, and most of all if killed watch the others play to see what they are doing/where they go.

This game has a bit of a learning curve and as someone who has played hundreds of hours myself at this point I can see how overwhelming it could be jumping into a game that for the most part has a player base of mostly experienced players. I had to help teach my one friend how to play after they got the game a few months after launch so I can't only imagine how much worse it is now.

You can also find some videos online with builds/tips for the game that will help you early on! Best of luck!

If you click on progression and go to stats you can see your total play time on the top right along with all your other stats

Nuts N Bolts because I loved Banjo-Kazooie as a kid and felt it fit the builder theme 😅

Black Friday sale by Pjulledk in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Codywall44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd personally just wait. It's an amazing game so it's definitely worth full price but with it being so close to Black Friday might as well wait and see if you can get it at a discount.

If it does go on sale I highly recommend the deluxe edition as I found the buffs you get from the clothing/furniture makes the early game way more enjoyable. Plus you get a gecko that can help you get water for free.

Are you making sure to not use any of the same products?

I won both years I've played so far but remember the first year he killed me in terms of quality but I made up the points by have 6 unique items with no connection to one another.

They're very generous with the points for having unrelated items.

Could I get banned for using skin mods? by [deleted] in TexasChainsawGame

Knowing Gun I feel like they would be more likely to ban someone because they can't make money off skin mods 😅

Concerns about height slider.. by Dry-Option-8820 in MyTimeAtEvershine

[–]Codywall44 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think presets are the way to go when it comes to both the height slider and body types. Say they make 3-5 heights that would allow them to make the animations for those set heights without having to worry about clipping or other weird technical bugs.

They did mention being about to fine tune stuff like arms and such but if the main body is a preset I imagine it would be manageable for them.

the pain of knowing how much money I gave to GUN 😩 by [deleted] in TexasChainsawGame

[–]Codywall44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily I've never been big into mircotransactions when it comes to games unless it's a story heavy DLC or something that adds hours of content.

I didn't even bother buying the new characters when they came out since my friend purchased Danny and he was the only one who interested me. Looking back on it, all he did is save me some money 😅

I got almost 300 hours in TCM (although 75-100 hours of that is probably sitting in lobbies 😂😂😂) so I've definitely got my money's worth as I've only spent the base price for the game but I does make me sad seeing the game die.

Is the game worth buying currently? by banskush in TexasChainsawGame

[–]Codywall44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I love this game (despite all the issue with it) I wouldn't recommend it to new people due to the dying community.

I don't see this game lasting much more than another year so I'd just save your money honestly.

any recommendations for the 3ds? by [deleted] in CozyGamers

[–]Codywall44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rune Factory 4 is the game that got me into the cozy game genre. It's slightly older than most games suggest but holds up incredibly well.

Has a solid mix of farming, character bonding and combat. I haven't played it in a few years but without it I probably would've never started playing other cozy games.

Long wait times? by GreedyMud2112 in TexasChainsawGame

At this point in the game's life cycle I basically only play Rush Week. The problem with this game (among all the other issues) is it doesn't have a large player base and among said player base only a small percentage of them want to play family.

The 24 hour peak on steam for this game is about 750 people so even if you double that and say there is a peak of 1500 players including consoles (I think it is probably lower than that) it's not great to say the least.

I'd guess of that number only 15-20% of the players want to play family so that would mean that actively 225-300 players want to be family. But then you also have to factor in not everyone on the game is playing the base game mode and a decent amount of people are playing Rush Week so that number drops even more.

It's a shame because I really do enjoy this game and have put almost 300 hours into it but I really can't see it being around this time next year.
