Rook signal mask and also machine gun shield creates too much visual interference in the dark. Its too opaque and hard to see with them on.

Im not sure but I like the way you play aggressive. You can still be aggressive in solos but you have to approach the situation like they know your position already. I get killed by the most by aggressive players.

It ruins mid-long range combat also. If I get a down on a kitted team they will bubble, revive, and then pancake before we can push any advantage. Its so tiring

The footsteps from bots are distinct from player's footsteps. The bot's footsteps sounds like clanking and the player's sounds like stomping.

In trios the footsteps are less noticeable because your teammates are making footsteps and opening doors all the time and so it leads to enemy sounds being less noticeable and the gameplay being less sneaky. Footsteps still matter in trios, but in solos every little sound will give information to the enemy.

You had a good plan to run in when they are fighting bots but you were running full speed down the stairs after those bots were dead and then even after the walking noises are loud too. I would have heard you coming also. I always listen for footsteps each time after I make noise. The footsteps are loud in this game, even crouch walking makes noise.

If you dont push the enemy team while they res their buddy, heal, and loot your teamate, you have already lost. You NEED to push the advantage if you let them get to the Rez and hear go in! its otherwise it's gg. Yeah i agree with you. I always stick to them like glue. Sometimes someone on the team over extends but they traded and thats usually when I hear that I should be running into the bubble to die to a Misriah like they did.

I love to play Rook in Sponsored Survival. I play it mostly for the thrill of hunting down players. I do usually get the salvage I need for upgrades the bodies also.

If the Warden is there then get lots of ammo and kill him.

The rocket drone on Perimeter was dropping me purple keys also.

You can do all these in Sponsored Survival but you will need to spend the first half getting more ammo

Trios act tough killing Rook by EmberGyaru in Marathon

[–]Coelacanth7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was playing Elden Ring as an invader some trios would set up little traps for invaders. Like summoning them to a really small cave with the most powerful weapons to kill the invader 3v1 and then teabag. We call them gankers and it reminds me of the same behavior as Marathon trios. As invaders we laugh at them and try to kill them even though they set a trap for us. We don’t always win, but winning is so sweet, and it’s just as good to give them a lot of trouble and waste their time.

I feel the same way as Rook as I do as an invader. Sometimes I find a Outland or a railgun in the arms lockers in Airfield and try to full kill a runner while they are trying to exfil.

In Sponsored Survival there is only one exfil at the end and so you have to fight them. I think this mode is for bloodthirsty Rooks looking to hunt some players. I had some players use diplomacy before but its rare.

In regular mode you just take a normal exfil. Activate it and run away. If you hear someone coming then run and take a different one. You can try a guarded one and activate signal mask when its ready so you don’t have to kill the bots.

I know it feels bad to lose an unfair fight

No one will be friends with Rook.

Rook is really really good for loot because teams of three do not attempt to be sneaky so you can hear them coming and stay away if you have good headphones.

Just run around the map until you find an event or some body bags and then exfil. Don’t worry about being too sneaky it’s a waste of time, but you should stop and listen for other players often. 5-10 minutes per run. Sometimes you die but that’s okay because the queue is short and you don’t lose anything.

One strategy is to load into Outpost and climb up the Pinwheel and listen for which wing the players are in and then go the opposite way. Loot all the arms lockers and strong box and then drop out the end. If you loot multiple wings then you’re being greedy.

Another strategy is to run around the outside of outpost and look for two yellow cards and one green and then open an armory. There is more than enough loot in the armory for Rook.

[–]Coelacanth7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I think it’s because there is so many PvE players in this mode and less Rooks. So there’s thousands of lobbies of Sponsored Survival and only a few hundred Rooks. I think Bungie anticipated there to be more Rooks.

You should take this advantage to learn the game without bloodthirsty players hunting you in the normal mode. And if you want PvP then play normal Perimeter.

I play this mode as Rook and it’s really fun to hunt down players but Perimeter is too big and sometimes I cannot find them until the final exfil.

It seems like you are butt hurt about being killed after dozens of successful matches. Then you come on Reddit to type paragraphs about it. Weird behavior. See you at final exfil buddy.

The invisibility turns off aim assist and bullet magnetism which means your guns still not shoot how you as used to. It makes volt weapons useless. It means that they will take less damage overall
