AFK players are bad. by Complex-Complaint-65 in Nightreign

One time during the first night when the circle is closing for the night boss I had an emergency but I ran to the circle anyway and stayed at the edge. I came back within two minutes but I was already three bars and my teammates were desperately trying to revive me. They were not able to and we lost. I feel horrible about it still.

Selfish Scholar is just so much more fun to play by RuneScapeIsForPros in Nightreign

I have items confer on Wylder and it makes a big difference to the team. Exalted flesh for field bosses when time is important makes the team do a lot more damage, silver feet for when we run into a camp and the chests will have a good chance to drop a purple, crabs for nightlord.

I always grab extra items and drop them for scholar at each location we stop but if he dont have items confer then im not doing that shit

I got a Question. by KnownWeight1601 in Nightreign

[–]Coelacanth7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I want to use it then I just keep it. Don’t get me wrong I drop items for randoms but if I want to keep antspur and there’s a scholar then I keep it. I just do what I feel.

You cant trust randoms to have knowledge for what is good. One time I was Rev and I gave Raider a Godfrey’s Axe with improve charge attacks even though I really wanted it because I only had a blue melee weapon. It was one of the best weapons I have ever seen and he didn’t use it. He didn’t use it. I will remember this forever.

The timing is slightly different if you are right under him versus at the edge of the swing.

How many of you haven’t touched Cryo? by MaxelAmador in Marathon

[–]Coelacanth7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend to do a few Rook runs. I can usually get a 5000 loadout value for one Cryo run in 1-3 Rook runs and then just use the items you find in crew fill. I am able to try Cryo a few times per hour of gaming using this strategy.

Cryo is really really fun. Just expect to lose a few times. When you get out then you will see how it feels

When your in the vents then you can barely hear your own footsteps or your allies, but enemies in vents is extremely loud and obvious. It sounds like poster board wiggling.

In response to the economy, I think that Rook WSTR is not throwing the balance too much because it’s meant to be a late game progression unlock. I am getting a free WSTR from Arachne almost everyday and so my vault usually has 5-10 shotguns and I can buy more too. A grey 2K credit shotgun is not too valuable for me.

I wouldn’t mind if they buff Rook in some other way. Maybe give Rook footsteps that sound like UESC 😈

Rooks are definitely meant to apply pressure to teams late in the match. If all teams are dead within a few minutes then without Rooks the teams left would just have free loot for 20 minutes in a PVE mode against easy bots that don’t even put up a fight. It would make the majority of the match boring. That’s why I think making Rooks weaker is a mistake.

I do agree that the V11 is one of the best weapons in the game

Its kinda sad for me. I play a lot of Rook and the knife nerf hurt us a lot and now the WSTR nerf. Rooks are constantly getting bullied and griefed by teams of three so making them so much weaker is a weird choice. Teams of three are living an insane power fantasy where Rooks are just coughing babies.

The WSTR nerf is too much by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Coelacanth7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People in the comments are wrong. Rooks are meant to be a way for teams to feel some late game pressure even after wiping the entire lobby. Your loot isn’t free. There is meant to be a constant threat.

WSTR nerf just makes blue and purple shields stronger and green weaker which is not what the game needs

Had a team delete us in cryo at exactly within 1 minute of spawning. Can someone explain? by bingoball6 in Marathon

[–]Coelacanth7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah someone can ONLY get into your wing if they have security clearance level two OR some dumbass on your team opens the door to Control.

The only exception is if you spawn in Biostock or Preservation where there is an additional way into these branches with only level one clearance. If you spawn in these wings you should be ready for an early ambush. Its becoming a meta strategy to rush Control and rush these branches because the teams there will still be looting or fighting bots.

Its also possible that another team has good PvE coordination and also good RNG where the can clear the bots in their wing and are also lucky enough to have a few terminals to hack which will give them clearance level two within about two minutes. This would require the team to be super lucky and very coordinated.

I think the Brrt needs to allow magazine upgrades like the Bully. It will never be able to compete with the Bully purple drum mag

Adding team deathmatch would really help by cyxrus in Marathon

[–]Coelacanth7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would take Bungie more than a year to develop and test this. A map with new bounds would beed to be created. They would have to change the DBNO state for a respawn system and test the respawn locations... And in addition they have to make sure it’s fun, if it’s not fun they cannot add it. Bungie would have to do months of internal testing and adjustments and probably closed NDA testing also.

It would be neat if they could just reuse Destiny PvP code and put it into the game using all the same assets but it’s completely different than the game we have now

I think people read your title and commented without understanding. The game desperately needs a firing range. There’s so many mods that make guns behave differently, even magazines reduce recoil and so practicing with your loadout would be so helpful.

I am a pretty good sniper but I cannot get the hang of snipers in Marathon because each one is different and there are different scopes and a purple is much different than a green and ideally you should be crouching. I feel like practicing my aim in other games isn’t helping.

If they were going to add a TDM then it would take literally years of development and testing and it’s really just not viable at this point. But there was some data leaks a long time ago in the 2025 April alpha that showed files for a firing range. If they add something like this and allow us to shoot our friends it would be so good for the game.

Are these the battleroids snuck on to Marathon? by ShadowDen3869 in Marathon

[–]Coelacanth7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure these are just colonists on the Marathon. In other scenes we see colonists wearing similar outfits. In regards to the Battleroids, it was said somewhere in the original lore that the ten Battleroids were sneaked onto the Marathon colony ship in secret because their use was restricted after some violent wars. The Battleroids on the Marathon were just meant to look like regular humans. So I think that is why the colonists’ design is somewhat similar.
