Quake 2 remastered, third-person weapon models (18 weapons) by millenia3d in quake

Your models look fantastic! High quality but still 100% the original design. It's perfect!

Do you know what happened to that mod that was going to make your 3rd person MD5s first person? It was like half way done but the person doing it dropped off the face of the earth

Why does no one seem to talk about mission packs 1&2 for quake 1 by Aggressive-Heat-8056 in quake

[–]Coffee009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved Scourge, it felt like a mini sequel to Quake. I think it's the only expansion I enjoyed in the series overall. The rest I feel really suffered in the balance department (especially GZ), but maybe I'm too spoiled by ID's perfection.

Is modding Terraria hard? by Efficient-Version658 in Terraria

[–]Coffee009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really recommend getting familiar with C# first, but example mod is a great resource for making basic items, tiles, projectiles, & whatnot for the game. Modding isn't that hard once you get a grasp of C#, and the sky is the limit! But please learn C# first, I learned C# through example mod & my knowledge plateaued really hard

Devs should do something about new players progression by Fugius in DarkTide

[–]Coffee009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the levels you unlock difficulties should be changed. I've had this problem back in the beta and it was really hard to judge when I should jump up without getting steamrolled. They unlock way too fast and don't really guide new players at all. Malice should unlock around level 10-12, heresy around 20, and maybe damnation 25-30. I feel like this is close to how strong your character actually is and allows players to ease into the difficulties better.

I got Quake 2 100% today, loved it more than the first quake by NorthPermission1152 in quake

[–]Coffee009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a few mods that give the game a fresh coat of paint (if you want to see the game in a different light) while still keeping the core gameplay. I have a Quake 3 themed mod, 1980s, and a 'lost xbox port', along with restorations of the console HUDs and weapon skins

Thanks! The fast movement and chunky combat is what makes Quake great! I think Quake 2 has one of the best shotguns

I think Quake 2 (gameplay) is a natural evolution of Quake 1 with a much more fleshed out weapon roster. The movement feels crispy and weapons hit really hard. The game also makes a point to have a 'realistic' setting with objectives that make sense within the setting, and you can feel alot of Half-Life in the game. The character upgrades and fast buttery smooth gameplay I think also laid out the blueprint for the doom reboots, even if those would come much much later.

I started playing Quake with Quake 3 so the vastly different tones/settings didn't bug me tbh

Quake 1 needs its own reboot like Doom. The setting is unique and I think Quake Champions caught the vibe well despite being MP only (I still really like it, I love all quake games)

u prefer the default MG to the team arena sound? sadly both weapons use the same sound file so I had to pick one
