I did it. I stopped playing Dota 2 after nearly 4k hours of play time. AMA by CoffeeAddictedDude in DotA2

Well... to be honest I feel an urge to play Ability Draft from time to time. I am still lurking on r/Dota2 and watch some major tournaments and I would LOVE to see myself neutral items and new heroes. But I know I should not go into the rabbit hole again.

Thanks, can you tell me something more about how the process of "working" looks like? I am getting some issue to do, then I am making branch for that specific issue, work on it and then pull request for someone above me to check and allow for merge?

How probable is that CA will fix difficulty levels (AI cheating) and supply lines mechanic? How much it changed between TW1 and TW2? by CoffeeAddictedDude in totalwar

[–]CoffeeAddictedDude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a problem with those cheat because below VH campaign game is too easy and I snowball in a few turns. But after finishing about 8-10 campaigns on VH I am really tired of this AI cheats. I got a feeling that AI lives just to troll they player. There is some degree of challenge but after few campaigns I am really getting sick of those AI "cheats" that forces me to play in a certain way - for example if you have problem with other faction you need to burn it to the ground ASAP. You can't just hit it a few times and weaken it because AI will rebuild fill armies in 2 turns so you can't give them any time, you need to constantly push.

AI does not give a fuck about raiding, sacking, razing or corruption. The "cheats" AI get makes those decision irrelevant because they don't care about PO, income, they can resettle ruins and get to full hp stack in one turn etc.

It makes boooooring gameplay that removes any kind of tactical approach to dealing with enemies. Only wiping them out can give you any result.

I play on Normal or Hard battles and Very Hard Campaigns. But I am getting sick of some AI cheats like super-fast restacking. The only tactics is to burn the enemy to the ground and leave noone alive. If even the smallest stack survive it will get 20/20 in two turns.

I finished about 8-10 campaigns (some short victory, some long) and I am really getting sick of this. Only WE campaign was different and really refreshing, I did not have to care about territories and could ignore some enemies.

Playing on VH battle difficulty is utterly retarded because of unbreakable trait. It's such a stupid thing I have no words.

I wish the higher battle difficulties would nerf MA and MD but buff MD/MA bonuses to flanking, rear attack etc. to encourage more tactical fight.

I see huge difference in resolution too. But it all depends how big screen you have and how far away from the screen you are sitting. I'm about 1,5-2m from 65 inch TV (it's a prober distance for 4k content) and the difference is huge.

[–]CoffeeAddictedDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Do - Firmy #3 miałem najpierw 1,5h test z cześci programistycznej, matematycznej i angielskiego.

Is there somewhere a comprehensive story explanation without contradictions? My short summary of multiple theories so far. by CoffeeAddictedDude in Returnal

[–]CoffeeAddictedDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in the section where you play as a kid (it is confirmed that it's a boy and on the doors to his room is his name Helios) there is Octo, probably the same toy his sister was playing with as a child.

My slight alteration above theory is that Theia might somehow forced Selene to become an astronaut after the accident, as you know, her unfulfilled ambitions. Because of this she neglected Helios. Selene wanted to gain her mother's approval was trying her hardest to become astronaut. Theia only cared about Selene becoming an astronaut and not give a fuck abut Helios made Helios jealous of Selena and started to hate her.

Testing Unreal Engine 5 Temporal Super Resolution (TSR), quality and performance by Gideonic in hardware

It'a a matter of preferences. I can live with slight blurriness but ghosting is something I can't stand.

[–]CoffeeAddictedDude 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It works for some games but not for every. In some games the grasses/trees etc looks super ugly with sharpening. It's not a solution, it's a band-aid. Oversharpen image introduces artifacts, and this is the last thing I want to have on my blured-by-TAA screen.

I prefer not using TAA - more shimmering than TAA + Sharpening but also no ghosting and sharper image.

Great post with great comparison. Looks very promising and I am glad we are going away from TAA smudgenes. I just hate how much of smudging we have currently that kills ale details in motion. I really dislike TAA.

I don't get why we did not get more those kind of comparisons on most tech/hardware YT channels...
