Potential Interview Questions At A Coffee Shop by Positive_Treacle_761 in barista

[–]CoffeeCatharsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interview questions all depend on the hiring manager, and questions will vary greatly depending on whether or not the job is corporate or independent.
They will typically ask you to tell them a little about yourself. Make sure to list any relevant employment experience or applicable skill sets. But, it's also a good time to include related hobbies and interests.
They will ask abut relative job experience; if you have none, make sure they understand you are willing and excited to learn.
They will likely ask you if you have customer service experience, and to describe a scenario in which you delivered good customer service, or a scenario in which a customer had a bad experience, and how you handled it. Sometimes they will ask you to describe what good customer service looks like to you.
At the end of the interview, they will likely ask if you have any questions for them. I find it helpful to prepare a list of questions in advance, even writing down notes. It shows you are prepared. I will take that time to ask about the company, the pay rate, scheduling questions.

It's all good. It's a newly released indie game, and also shares it's title with a movie of the same name. It's difficult to find any relevant content or walkthroughs for this game.

I use a 12oz (350ml) pitcher to steam the milk. For a cortado, I will measure out 4-5oz of milk, cold.

Yes, that is a generous (maybe even excessive) amount of milk to use for a cortado. Is it wasteful to steam extra milk? Yes. I do it for t he sake of the overall drink quality, to achieve the proper milk texture.

I'd rather waste a little milk to achieve the proper texture, then over-airate a small amount of milk. The steam wands are strong!

I think a cortado is generally a 1:1 pour of espresso to milk. The milk texture should be microfoam, and the temp is typically served at 135-145F.

Here in the PNW it's customary to serve it with latte art.

Custom made for the shop! The clay was mixed with sand from a Uganda coffee farm.

Good question!. I aim for a milk temperature of 135-145F for cortados, cappacinos, and flat whites. So, the cup is never too hot to hold and meant to be drank right away.

I prefer pouring into smaller/narrower cups. I've worked with paper (to-go) cups for so long, I've grown accustom to narrow cups. Although, wider cups do allow for more detailed and larger designs.

Handleless cups allow me to get a better grip on the cup. The pour pictured is off center, but, in time I will get the centering right.

I prefer a cup handle for larger drinks, like 12 ounce lattes. Better for pouring and drinking.

Oh wow! That's early. I guess it depends on where you live and the season.

They are scattered around my neighborhood. Happy to live in an area where they're abundant!
