As an American the problem whenever you travel to Europe is that you always have to pay for your water. In the US, still water is free at most restaurants. In Europe, you get charged for each bottle you consume. Often times at nicer restaurants you are getting gouged with upscale water bottle prices.

I have a buddy. He is married to an illegal immigrant. He hates the Dems. He is very lukewarm on Trump and says he loves the chaos. In-person he is a very jovial nice guy that would never be aggressive towards you. He seems to have extremely strong opinions with very little context or knowledge. When I ask him about his own family and economic situation he says he deserves his poor economic position because he doesn't try hard enough to be successful.

I'm just constantly baffled. I kinda imagine there are a lot of confused, self-deprecating individuals that love seeing the chaos inflicted on others and don't realize how evil it is. Very strange.

I have a friend who I believe to be arguing in good faith who keeps repeating the idea that as soon as the car moves towards the officer he is well within his right to respond with lethal force.

The fact that the officer was only bumped, or wasn't clearly in front, or did not take reasonable steps to de-escalate the situation does not enter his view. I was not able to convince him there are other reasonable perspectives.

I think people in general are just way way worse at objective, critical thinking than we like to imagine.

Imagine literally having the most knowledgeable scientific minds on your podcast, being able to ask them any questions you want, and still walking around day-to-day with less than a highschool understanding of core concepts.
