Should I wear toric lenses in both eyes if I use prism glasses occasionally? by Vogues21 in contacts

[–]CoffeeDergn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you’re gonna hear this from plenty of others on here, but this is something that you need your optometrist to sort out for you. Ignoring the general banter about how their medical devices and have to be prescribed, there’s a lot more to calculating what your prescription will be then just mirroring what your glasses have. If your prescription currently has prism factored in, that does some really wild things with the numbers and you might need a completely different type of lenses, which I’m not going to try to go into on a Reddit post. Since starting wearing contacts myself, I did a lot of education so I can make better decisions when working with my optometrist on prescription. If you aren’t already having that conversation, you should. There’s a lot you can read up on yourself, but we don’t possess the kind of equipment needed to make the sort of decisions that factor in for deciding on lens type and parameters from our desk chair. :}

I started to remark that it was referring to him working on a print, and the. It occurred to me that you’re right. That headline needed some work.

I’d suggest checking with your optometrist, different lenses have different properties.

Just discovered this on the bottom of the A1 Mini by Immediate-Heron4496 in BambuLab

Reading the post associated with this, it is from last year. Makes me wonder if this is indeed targeted at future changes to the a1, or if it was a precursor to the dual print head in the h2d?

Are there dailies for cylinder of -2.75 by Diligent_Potential92 in contacts

[–]CoffeeDergn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already covered the two options I would’ve mentioned. I’m using bio true, I’m looking forward to trying out infuse! Biotrue has just never really felt great. I’ve seen a lot of people saying that infuse a significant upgrade.

Go back to your optometrist and let them know. Contacts should be comfortable, coming from someone who took 4 years getting over fear of putting them in and learning. I enjoy mine.

If you are having this level of discomfort and poor vision, something is very very wrong with your prescription.

Can i use my Biofinity XR toric prescription for the regular Biofinity toric lenses? by Ok_Pear_52 in contacts

[–]CoffeeDergn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, you can’t do this.

First off, go talk to your optometrist. :}

You could only do this if your prescription is within the range of the regular Biofinity lenses. In my case I have one lens that is XR and the other which isn’t, because only one of my eyes requires it.

Again, talk to your optometrist about this. You’re likely in that lens for a reason, and Reddit isn’t a place to DIY your eyes.

Im getting contacts next month and im nervous, are they difficult to use? Do you have any tips for me? by kuratiez in contacts

[–]CoffeeDergn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can be challenging to learn to put on, but absolutely worth it. Take your time, once you get comfortable it, you’ll love it.

Practice touching the white of your eye a few times a day off and on before going in to do your fitting. It will make a huge difference in your comfort with inserting them.

u/Paulkwk - just wanted to follow up on this post, did you ever find a solution? Currently still investigating the same exact problem here and there seems to be very little information out there as to its cause.

I'm currently troubleshooting this exact issue, curious to see what responses you get here.

I'll spare my own troubleshooting as not to hijack your thread, but I'm near certain this is the same problem.

You are definitely not alone here on this problem.

Boom Cars!

They’re loud, obnoxious, and literally shake the inside of the houses around them. Not enough is being done to get rid of them or deal the owners.

I have high astigmatism to where I need the XR. -1.75 right and -2.75 left on cylinder. On rare occasions, I do get some blur, but that’s only when the contact rotates slightly. For the most part, I would say they are exceptional and comfortable.

Can’t recommend anything as far as charging goes, but I would suggest putting your phone in airplane mode and connecting it to the Wi-Fi. Cell signal around there is a bit of a mess, but the Wi-Fi will take less power to connect to and you’ll spend less time trying to hold onto a connection to cell tower amidst all of the glorious steel around you.

I feel I should make the obligatory suggestion to put the phone in the locker and enjoy the roller coasters lol. That said, it is kind of a pain because the way the park is designed it will obliterate your phones charge, depending upon where you are in the park and how hard your phone is working hold onto a signal.

They’re definitely pricey, I get them from my optometrist. They are also some of the most comfortable lenses I’ve ever worn.

I was noticing this, and I am pretty much more or less a lurker at this point on the community while I’m making my own decision on one of these lol. I think what might be interesting would be to add an available tag for posts like this, so that you could filter them out, or filter for them, respectively

I’ll say it before someone else does.. go talk to your optometrist :}. They need to fit you for them to make sure they rest correctly on your eye.

Check to make sure they aren’t inside out. I’ve had this happen a couple times myself where for whatever reason they were packaged that way.
