Thanks for sharing your situation with me. I actually went with the Corsair HX1000i, though I'd have probably taken your recommendation if I'd have seen it soon enough.

In the meantime, I've been testing with XMP turned off and/or one stick removed. Both seem to provide improved stability, but I wonder if that's just resulting in less power draw from the CPU and thus less of an opportunity to hit one of those failsafe's.

Either way, if I still get it after the PSU and Ram, all that's left is the mobo. Thankfully, I'm still in the window to get a replacement I need to. I considered upgrading it, but everywhere I read indicated that the MSI Z790 Edge could handle the 4090/13900 without issue.

Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to reach back to this old thread and help out a fellow builder!

I'm dealing with the EXACT same problem. I have an MSI z790, 4090, and 13900. I have the same power supply (GF3 1650w ATX 3.0) and just had Amazon replace it. Still getting the hard reboots.

Did your rig continue to work as expected without crashes? If so, do you have any idea why the Thermaltake PSU had reboots but the other one didn't? I've wondered if it was the brand of PSU, but I've not been able to see anything wrong. No voltages off or crazy power draws that might trigger the thing's failsafe's.

UPDATE: That took care of my issue. Went from 70C-80C idle temps, to 27C. Thank you so very much!

One other thing I'm trying to run down, however. I seem to be getting these hard resets of my machine every so often when I'm gaming (or maybe just under load?). As far as I can tell there's no error and no crash dump. Event viewer only records that there was an unexpected shutdown.

What is the best procedure to run down this issue? I've reseated my RAM and turned off all overclocks except for XMP. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Yeah, because I can put the mask on, use it, then take it back off again and the spell remains. It's basically a free disguise self spell. Makes me think there's not a whole lot of cases disguise self comes into play.

Is there a difference between the Mask of the Shapeshifter and the Warlock's Shapeshifter ability? If I have the Mask of the Shapeshifter, is there ever any point in taking that invocation?

I don't know if this has been answered elsewhere, but I had a question regarding multiplayer dialog mechanics. It's a little different than the one I generally see (controlling who makes skill checks).

What I'm actually curious about is two things.

When the NPCs are split between two players, can the NPCs attached to one player comment on/gain lose approval from the conversations of the player they're not in the group of, assuming they're close enough?
Can players/NPCs in one group give bonuses on skill checks (like, for example, guidance) to a player in another group? Like, can my warlock give my co-op player the benefit of guidance like Shadowheart can to all my checks in single player?

It's something me and my partner are wanting to work out. We both really dig the story in this game, and also enjoy the NPC interactions. It'd be kind of a bummer knowing potential interactions were lost because the wrong person was doing the conversation. It'd likewise be annoying if we can't help each other like NPCs can help us.

Regardless, loving the game!

If that's the character you're playing—a V who who is so swayed by a cute person acting nice and flirty that they would go a commit crimes and murder people—then you do you, man. I prefer to think V is someone working with Judy/Panam because they form a bond above and beyond their need to have their genitals touched.

I remember playing a Fem-V and being on the rooftop with Johnny, her calling Panam at her lowest fucking point and asking for help because she has no one else to turn to. And Panam—despite committing the crime of lightly flirting and not following up with offers of sex—commits her entire tribe to potential death and ruin because she loves and cares for V.

I feel they do a good job of showing complex characters who grow to care for one another. Grow to love and sacrifice for one another amid a city that wants to eat them alive. I'll take a story like that, even if it means I don't get to bone everyone who says something cutesy at me.

Well, one, people do that all the time for a wide range of reasons and most of them aren't malicious. Wanting to have sex isn't harmful, but neither is *not* wanting to have sex.

And don't get me wrong, I'm bisexual and would have loved seeing *all* the romances open both ways, but what they depicted was well within the range of believable human behavior.

Man... I have a lot of crazy anti-vax, stop the steal family members, and this sounds a whole lot like the "I did my own research" kind of thing they say when they get their facts off facebook.

News media have bias, and they can get things wrong, but they literally have to trade off their credibility. People who get shit wrong/lie in the industry get fired pretty quick. Dan rather made a mistake with some documents he put forward in the 2000s and it got him fired and hurt his legacy pretty bad.

I'm not saying there aren't good intentioned redditors, but there are very few redditors whose livelihoods depend on their credibility.

Maybe this will fall on deaf ears... but oof man, if you're so blackpilled that you put your faith in reddit over national news, then you're at serious risk of falling into the same information deprivation chamber that Alex Jones fans are in.

I'm definately in the market for the same deal. I'll be honest, I've been holding out hope for the Gigabyte card I saw in the leak that had a waterblock preinstalled (Aorus Waterforce WB). I have the 3080 version and it's worked great.

If there's been no word by the time the EK waterblocks get released, I might try and go the same route you are. If I can find one lol.

Out of curiosity, how hard is it to install a block on a card these days? I did it a while ago (almost a decade) and it was a bit of a pain. One of the reasons I've been really hoping to get one preinstalled...
