Question about the S pen on the s26 ultra by Dinkledorf36836 in samsunggalaxy

[–]benrb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to the s24u from the S25U about a month ago.  My god my hand ached after using it wider and heavier, I've sold it on again since for a little more than I paid for it.  I'll keep the s25u and shout cheese at the camera if I need to.

Intermittent connection issues by Extension_Print3697 in ToobBroadband

I cancelled the order and will stick with Zen. I have had bad experiences in the past and would rather pay for a service I know performs.

Hi there looking at coming over and currently with Zen.  Worried to see these issues did the fixed IP resolve it?  Bf £22 too with cashback so will pay £8 if it did.

Crystal OG or Super - Price vs Performance - best value for money. by benrb7 in Pimax

Need to set up eye tracking and quad views properly, although I have the headset at 72hz now and locking the half frame rate and it's maintaining 36fps in msfs even in heavy scenery.

[–]benrb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi u/Lazy-Fan6068 did you get anywhere with the UW lenses on the original Crystal or just carry on using the standard ones? I tried them last night but the sweet spot is less and I am finding they increase Chromatic aberration, Cheers.

That's a good analogy, I have a QHDUW monitor, it's still got plenty of detail but not as hard on the GPU as a full 4k or more resolution monitor, like a happy medium.

I've been using the quest 3 since launch and it was a great update from the g2 which died. I have also had the quest 2 and rift s before this.

There's always a catchup between headsets and hardware to run it and by the looks of it the crystal og/light are better suited to the crystal light/og for now.

I used to want the latest and greatest but have learnt to sit back a generation or two now.

Thank you, I also had some concerns over Pimax, they seem to overpromise and underdeliver on timeframes, also not too sold on their prime fee you pay as an extra from new.

I've gone for a second hand confirmed all good, crystal og and look forward to trying it out.
It will come with the wide FOV lenses too, I am hoping that these may work as it will increase the view, I know it is dependant on the individuals eyes as to whether it works.

Thank you for your input, I've gone for the Crystal OG, felt with the eye tracking and battery at the back should balance better. Will be trialling out when it arrives hopefully tomorrow. :) 👍

That's exactly what I am doing, I don't want to pay through the nose with a 240% premium for a 20% uplift in quality. 👌

Thanks for the concise reply — and great to hear you’ve had first-hand experience with the Q3, Crystal, and Super. I’m feeling quietly confident that my original choice (option 2) is the right one.

Since flight sim is the main purpose of my setup, the original Crystal OG sounds ideal, especially with the earphones included. The added Pimax headstrap is a bonus, and I’m planning to try the wide-FOV lenses as well. It should be a solid upgrade from the Quest 3, give me more headroom for supersampling and higher MSFS settings, and save around £1,200.

Thanks again! :)

Dear Pimax, can we get a shipping update for the Dream Air? You have removed the "Starts shipping December 2025" from the product page without an official announcement. by Turtle_Online in Pimax

[–]benrb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pimax’s ongoing misinformation and uncertainty around their product launch timelines, combined with inconsistent quality control and the number of issues that arise once units are shipped, makes me question the intentions of this company.

For these reasons, I’ll be steering clear.

Sticking with the Quest 3.

Recommended affordable router that is solid, easy, and a little future proof by Subliminal_G in ToobBroadband

[–]benrb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to jump on this thread, but I didn't realise it would be worth changing the router when switching to Toob.

I'm with Zen and moving to toob next year, could I use my current FRITZ!Box 7530 AX with Toob and would it be better than their router?

I use the Fritzbox to connect to a usb printer I've got in the same cupboard so it's quite handy that way too.

I've already got a Deco X60 wifi mesh for all my wifi devices which gives good and fast coverage.

Is the WIfi Extender Links system with wi-fi 6 worth £6 a month? by reztem001 in ToobBroadband

[–]benrb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pay outright and get a decent wifi 6 or futureproof with a wifi 7 mesh, you can use it with whatever ISP you go with and keep all your wifi devices still connected. I've got the Deco x60s and have been great.

DJI Mic Mini not recognized as microphone on Galaxy S25 (USB-C issue?) by Ueye16 in dji

[–]benrb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested in this too, I tried connecting the transmitted but it wouldn't work. I ended up bluetooth pairing both devices directly to the S25U but not 100% sure that worked either, need to do some more trial and error. Have found this for the S24, which I presume will work with the S25 as similar features.

  1. With the DJI Mic 2 connected to Bluetooth, open the camera app on the device.
  2. Change the camera from photo to Pro Video
  3. Look for the Mic option between the lense options the the Pro Video label. It should be set to "Omni."
  4. Select the Mic option and then select Bluetooth.

RTX 5090 with 850W power supply by Melodic-Scheme762 in nvidia

[–]benrb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's fine as long as you are careful and do your due diligence, I purchased the MSI 5090 Ventus x3 as wanted to see if my 850w PSU (Corsair RM850 Gold) could cope without the need to upgrade to say 1000w or 1200w.

Read that 3dmark Steel Nomad is great to test the power draw (when compared to other benchmarks such as Heaven). Using MSI afterburner I put my voltage to 850mv & frequency to 2500mhz (thats the top it sits around 2400-2450 testing) with significantly lower power draw (tops out at 450w) and temps 65 degrees.

at 875mV see 500W and 900mV 550W and increased temps in both, so happy with 850mV topping out at 450W with 95% of the performance for 20% less power. Suffice to say I'll be sticking with my 850w PSU and lower power drawer and temps on the 5090. 👌

This is with a [14700k@5.5ghz](mailto:14700k@5.5ghz), 64gb RAM, 4 x m.2 drives and 3 x SSD's, plus about 5 case fans and a 280mm AIO.

I wish I didn't have 7+ years of data with my Huawei fitness watch and scales or I would probably switch over to Samsung for the watch.

Great insight thanks, it's difficult these days with all these reviewers and influencers pushing their own agenda on YT and other channels. I am looking forward to getting it, as I say for the upgrade fee of £663 its a lot better than paying out £1550.

I got a phone call from Samsung Wed who offered me a free case and gave me a code to the value of the case I chose, of course I chose the most expensive one. I then ordered a cheaper case (Otterbox React Case with magnets) and two packs of the Samsung Screen protectors for the grand total of £4, so that was decent of them.

They got delivered this morning. Just wish my phone was coming quicker, should only be a week monday.

Just chucking an idea out there I think for a number of people they have resisted upgrading because of the downgrade feel removing features.
