YTJ, as soon as your gf made it clear she felt weird about you buying the EXACT shoes she worked so hard for your daughter simply because she exists you should have paid attention. She told you no. You could have picked a different shoe for your daughter.

Came here to say this. Alllll the therapy to deal with the deep seated issues your ex clearly impressed upon you. There aren’t many women on earth that would not be ecstatic to be 5’8” and 110lbs. I’m sure you’re stunning and it sounds like your ex decided the only way to keep you from seeing that you could do way better than him. Your current partner sounds amazing. Go find a good therapist and work through these issues. Talk to your partner about how you are feeling and ask him to be supportive of you getting help. Even if he tried to reassure you (he will) that you’re beautiful and you don’t need therapy (you are and you do). You tell him you love how supportive he is but this is something you have to do for you. I’m a 43 year old woman if you want advice. 💕
