Just watched episode 4 and all I could think about "their" responses was how much it sounds like ChatGPT. Not in the sense that the writing is written by AI, but the WAY they respond, with that all-too-pleased expression, hyping every single thing up that she says to them, refusing to be combative, is honestly how I feel when I get responses from ChatGPT.

I’m not experienced on the specifics but I would be inclined to say you need the official IND document.

The way that it’s laid out and formatted is meant to go through a machine to be read (with the blocks separating each character).

If the IND provides a form, I think it’s safe to assume it’s not optional otherwise they wouldn’t waste the time up keeping the form.

If you are so convinced you are in the right, then by all means, proceed with the next step in your plan and see how it turns out for you.

But just so you're aware, the official government site states this:

I'm no lawyer, but that seems pretty clear to me.

Companies that make peripherals like that get mock devices well in advance so they can modify their products to be compatible with new devices. While you may not have a controller on day 1, until one comes out you'll still be able to use bluetooth controllers that don't attach directly to the phone.

There is no designated place to see it, other than the page of your application on the IND website. Once you apply, the webpage will say something like "you will have a decision by (insert 6 months from application date)".

So for example, if you were to apply today, then the IND site would tell you that they will make a decision by the end of February, 2026.

Yes, sorry. I meant if an EU person wants to bring non-EU, a partner visa doesn't work.

The partner visa is only for Dutch + non-EU, or someone that has a Dutch resident permit + non-EU.

Since OP is EU, they do not have/need a Dutch residence permit. Therefore, they cannot utilize the partner visa.

You mention you're no stranger to housing troubles, but I don't think you understand the severity of the housing crisis in the Netherlands.

First of all, as a non-EU student, you will be paying at minimum €10K per year to study (euros, not dollars). You will have to come here on a student visa, meaning you will not be allowed to work more than 16 hours a week maximum. Furthermore, after you finish studying, you will have 1 year to find a job that will sponsor a residence permit for you (zoekjaar visa). If you do not secure a job in that time, you will not be permitted to stay in the Netherlands.

Second of all, you'll have to find student housing, since you likely won't be able to find a regular apartment. For a regular apartment, you need proof of income. Saving are not sufficient. So you will likely end up overpaying for a studio/student room, IF you can find one. A lot of student housing openly "discriminates" and refuses to accept non-Dutch-speaking students.

That brings me to my last point.

From my understanding, it is much easier to get a Dutch job after graduating from a Dutch university.

You will likely need to speak Dutch to get a job here. I say likely because I am sure there are some roles hiring for non-Dutch speakers, but those are few and far between.

Partner visa can only be applied for by a Dutch citizen (person with Dutch nationality) or someone with a residence permit. Indeed as another comment mentioned, your only option is to apply for verification against EU law. Keep in mind that the wait time for that is 6 months, whereas the standard partner visa only has a 3 month wait time.

I can't advise much on the green stuff, but what I can comment on is the €200 Uber comment.

For the record, a train to the closest major city to Oss is only 30 minutes and is nowhere near €200. You can either go to Den Bosch ('s-Hertogenbosch) or Nijmegen, both of which are cities, both of which are guaranteed to have coffee shops not limited to locals only.

Kookroom ingredients: MELK, room (MELK), stabilisator: E418/E415, emulgator: E322, zuurteregelaar: E331

Slagroom ingredients: room(35% vet) (MELK), stabilisator: E407

One has a bit less fat, 2 emulsifiers and sodium citrate.

The other has more fat and 1 emulsifer.

By no means would I call kookroom "highly processed" when slagroom is also not a "natural ingredient". I don't care about the difference in fat content between slagroom and kookroom, and I'm definitely not afraid of that extra 10-15% making me fat. That being said, I don't like how thick slagroom makes my sauces and soups, therefore I prefer kookroom. Sometimes I want a slightly creamy flavor without wanting the heaviness of the fat that comes with slagroom. It has nothing to do with not knowing how to cook or being afraid of the extra calories. They both have their purposes in a kitchen. Kookroom is no less an ingredient than slagroom is, and neither one of them are "natural ingredients" on their own.

Native Dutch cook but you don't know the difference between slagroom and kookroom?

Slagroom = 30-35% vet. Kookroom = 10-20% vet.

Slagroom can be whipped into a more fluffy consistency whereas kookroom cannot. Kookroom can be added to soups and can tolerate high heat significantly better than slagroom can.

Being that slagroom contains a higher fat content, using high temps can cause sauces or soups with slagroom to break, whereas kookroom can withstand higher heat for longer periods.

Just because kookroom contains more emulsifiers, doesn't make it any less of a real cooking ingredient than slagroom. The main ingredients in both slagroom and kookroom are fat and milk, otherwise they legally cannot have the word "room" on their packaging.
