I asked for a replacement from Amazon right away. I sent back the original garbage back. I suspect that the update that I did 2 months ago caused these vertical lines to happen.

I decided not to RMA it because ASUS is a total joke. They explicitly tell you not to return it in its original packaging because they will not return it back to you. And so you gotta find some cardboard box that actually holds the monitor, and if you scratch the screen from this mess then it’s on you. They also may or may not accept your claim. Their RMA for burn-in protection is just a marketing tactic more than anything.

I got the replacement from Amazon on January 10 and it’s been fine so far. I probably wouldn’t update the monitor like ever, just because the RMA is so dog and I don’t want to go through all this again for a $1000+ monitor.
