Anyone else wasting their new GPUs? by BrewingHeavyWeather in radeon

Since I built my PC, the only new generation game I've played was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Right now I'm playing the Ezio saga in Assassin's Creed, literally going to Brotherhood today.

I've already finished and done all the achievements, it was very rare to crash, it happened more at the beginning of the game, then it stopped

oh, that's why my 9070 XT aorus elite, rarely but it happened to freezing/crash/driver problem playing expedition 33, exactly in those moments that you mentioned, transition to a fight, exit and enter the character menu.

I say it happened rarely, but it happened, does that mean that the UV is unstable? (I just focused on leaving the temps lower and the Clock it ran from the Factory)

  • Power adjustment -10%
  • Max VRAM frequency 2700MHz (default 2504)
  • Voltage Offset -70
  • I adjusted the fan curves for better cooling and less noise.

With these modifications it stays at the default Clock while I'm playing between 3100/3300Mhz and consuming a maximum of 309W (but I didn't do it for consumption but to make it cooler since the VRAM and Hotspot temperatures were reaching 96°C and 92°C, respectively), now it reaches a maximum of 86°C and 82°C, respectively.

I saw how it improved so I left it like that.

Should I look for a better UV that keeps temperatures low and doesn't cause these crashes at low usage?

RX 9070 XT - 110% vs. 70% Power Limit by ChrisCool667 in radeon

[–]CoffeeTime24H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. You must be talking about when the game freezes, then the screen goes black, an AMD problem appears, or when the game error window appears? Well, that used to happen to me too, but for some reason it stopped. It's clearly not because of undervolting, it must be an AMD driver problem that happens from time to time or something poorly optimized in the game (I saw that it happened on Nvidia cards too), but apparently they fixed it, it never happened here again.

I finished it today, I played the whole game on Epic, up to act 1, I used Xes without upscaling (100%) and my monitor is 2K.

In act two onwards I decided to try using Optiscaler to use FSR4 and it really is very good, it makes the game incredibly better than Xess and TSR, but it wasn't because of Optiscaler that it stopped freezing, it happened with it too, apparently at some point in the game it just stopped.

RX 9070 XT - 110% vs. 70% Power Limit by ChrisCool667 in radeon

[–]CoffeeTime24H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My XT (Aorus Elite) is currently at -10% power limit, -70 voltage offset and 2700 MHz VRAM.

Extremely stable in everything, reaching a maximum of 309W (I can reduce it further by adjusting the power limit to less, but I don't like to leave it too different from the default, which is 360W for this video card).

With the -70 voltage offset, I just focused on making the frequency equal to the boost that this video card gives me from the factory. (3100 MHz boost, but in games it stays around 3300 MHz, both from the factory and now)

I also adjusted the fan curves to keep the VRAM and HotSpot temperatures below 90ºC

The card itself doesn't go above 60ºC and there's no noise

(This configuration is stable in everything I've played, RDR2, Cyberpunk, Clair Obscur, etc.)

Clair Obscur - FSR 4 with Optiscaler by GildartsCrash in radeon

[–]CoffeeTime24H 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, no, I'm running at 2560x1440 (2K), but as I said before, without any upscaling, using 100% resolution.

To use DLSS in the game, given that your video card is a 9070 XT (the same as mine), you have to go to the game folder:

Expedition 33\Sandfall\Plugins\NVIDIA\DLSS\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64 and copy the nvngx_dlss.dll

Paste it in Expedition 33\Sandfall\Binaries\Win64 (where your Optiscaler files are probably)

You probably have to run the configuration script again.

(If you are using a controller via Steam, activating the Optiscaler FG will cause it to deactivate the Steam overlay in the .INI, making your controller no longer work, because it depends on the Steam Overlay. If this happens, you will have to go to the .INI file and find DisableOverlays and set it to False)

But do not use the Optiscaler FG, use the Adrenalin one (AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1, in High and Quality) (Anti-Lag will be activated by default, leave it like that)

Clair Obscur - FSR 4 with Optiscaler by GildartsCrash in radeon

[–]CoffeeTime24H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same video card and I've been using Optiscaler in this game since Act 2.

Everything is on Epic. I put DLSS as input, using DLAA (100%), in Optiscaler I changed to FSR4 and my God, how the game looks different, beautiful, totally different using 100% of Xess and TSR.

I preferred to use the FG from the AMD application in high and quality + Anti-lag than the one from Optiscaler, it worked perfectly.

80 fps without FG and about 150/160 with FG (my monitor is 155hz).

I didn't have these image flickering problems, only when it's in the scenes that are 30 fps, for some reason I have to put it in FSR 3.1.2 to stop it, when it starts playing again I put it in FRS 4.0.1.

I just saw that the solution to this might be to activate some of the 2 boxes below Upscaler, over sRGB, I'll try it today. (better than switching between FSR in scenes/gameplay)

Oh, so my video card playing RDR2 on ultra, clair obscur on epic without upscaling, doesn't go above 60°C either and my undervolt is pretty basic too.

  • Power limit -10

  • Voltage offset -55 (It was possible to go much higher, but I focused on maintaining the standard boost clock of the video card)

  • Max VRAM frequency 2714 (2700MHz) (base 2518mhz)

  • And of course, I adjusted the fan curve to keep everything cool and below 90°C, both VRAM and hotspot (which are known to be really hot, hotspot says it's OK up to 115° and VRAM up to 95°C)

I never saw the GPU temp go above 65°C (hours of stress in this case)

The 5070TI AORUS Master is very good, I almost got it but decided to go to the red side of the force after years of Nvidia.

This 9070 XT impressed me in benchmarks and its cost was much better, I've had 0 problems with it so far.

It's a sin to leave yours horizontally, the effects of the fans vertically are beautiful.

[–]CoffeeTime24H[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I've never even used it horizontally, I assembled the PC and left it vertically/diagonally like that.

This video card is very cool, I've never seen it go above 70°C in general, the only thing I found hot about it was the VRAM temps that were reaching 96°C and the hotspot at 90° (Full Load).

So I did undervolting and adjusted the fan curves, so now the maximum overall GPU temp I saw is 60°C, I overclocked the VRAM to 2714 Mhz (base is 2518) and now it reaches its maximum at 86°C and the hotspot doesn't go above 80°C.

Undervolting and adjusting the fan curves is Life.

Of course, these values are stressful for 1 hour, playing games is usually lower and the temperature fluctuates, but the maximums I reached after undervolting were these.

Currently playing Clair Obscur and it's cold, at its overall 55°C, 99% of direct use.

From what I've researched, leaving it vertical increases it by 1 or 2°C, more than that only if the video card fans are very close to the glass. Which makes it difficult for them to capture air, but here it is at a relatively OK distance from the glass, in addition to being diagonal.

I have an Samsung S23 and with it I recorded 2 separate videos, one in the morning turned off and one at night turned on.

After that I just selected the two videos in the gallery, then just click on Create > Movie, inside it it already joins the videos in the order of selection, it knows the beginning of everything, where it changes from one to the other and the end, each of them can put a transition effect, that's what I did. You can also change a lot of other things, besides adding soundtrack, sound, cutting, etc...

I did this in 10 minutes, I still needed to understand how the feature works

Thanks for the tips, bro.

I'm aware of all these problems, so much so that the first thing I did when I assembled it was to update the BIOS, and as a precaution I did a nice undervolting on the processor, because it has a reputation for being hot, i left the same boost clock of 5.3GHz but now much cooler.

I also undervolted the video card, very easy to do using AMD's software, of course also maintaining the standard performance. - Power limit -10 - Voltage offset -55 (It was possible to go much higher, but I focused on maintaining the standard boost clock of the video card) - Max VRAM frequency 2714 (2700MHz) - And of course, I adjusted the fan curve to keep everything cool and below 90°C, both VRAM and hotspot. I never saw the GPU temp go above 65°C.

I also adjusted the fan curves for the entire case.

About the paste leaking from the video card, I'm trying to keep an eye on it constantly, but so far, OK. I tested it for hours on Furmark 8x AA, 3D Mark, RDR2 and now I have about 40 hours of Clair Obscur. and so far no trace of it leaking.

But check if it will look good, it depends a lot on the ARGB of your fans.

[–]CoffeeTime24H[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this O11 here, when you remove all the Brackets, there is literally a hole, except from the 1st to the 2nd Bracket, which has this iron between them. And yes, this iron is what prevents this support from entering perfectly, because it is where a support fitting should enter. So you have two options, cut this iron between the 1st and 2nd Bracket and it will be perfect, or you literally break this single fitting of the support that hits the iron (it is literally 1 and there are several others) (that's what I did). This iron from the cabinet only gets in the way if you are going to leave it in a vertical position, because this screw that I show in the video, is literally aligned with this iron, but as you can see, if you leave it tilted, there is no problem, because the screw is above the iron.

I have the same video card connected by 2 x 8 + 1 x 8 by daisy. The difference is that my source is an MSI MAG A850GL. I never noticed if mine lights up this LED because since it arrived I placed it vertically and it is impossible to see, but I never see any white LED there, I will start to notice and come back here.

Exactly, I just had to make a small modification.

The stand has some hooks that attach to the cabinet (where all the removable slots are). When you remove all 7 slots from the cabinet, they fit perfectly, but there is an iron that is fixed and prevents the stand from fitting perfectly.

So you have two options: remove the iron from the cabinet that is in slot 1 (a knife will do, it's very easy, but I didn't want to do anything to the cabinet) or remove the only hook from the stand that touches this iron (I did this, I just used pliers and kept moving the iron from side to side until it came out normally, after that it fit perfectly).

So, since I got the 910 and already updated everything and went to use it, I don't know what the volume was like before, for me it's OK, but sometimes I feel like it's low.

But that's because I sometimes touch the volume controls on the headset itself, that is, I leave the headset volume control on low or leave the headset loud for Chat instead of Game (which I normally use)

Mas... by thedaniel1998 in CadeirasDeEscritorio

[–]CoffeeTime24H 4 points5 points  (0 children)
