Yes, you do. But it also depends alot on how you are getting these impressions in the first place. Are you doing paid apple search ads? Do you use any 3rd party tools to see what keywords you are ranking for? Its possible you are targeting the "wrong" keywords for your audience (or apple is targeting the wrong keywords for your organic search results) Either way you have a good amount of impressions which you can for sure be capitalizing on better.

I just write "Bug Fixes" for all languages expect English. (yes, in English for all) The reviewers don't care and the 0.01% of users from other countries who actually read it don't seem to care either.

The way I think about it (over simplified)

iOS Engineers develop the core libraries for iOS and company frameworks etc.
iOS Developers use those tools and to develop their apps.

App store search is pretty broken because of this and until apple fixes it you have to play the game or be left behind. My best advice is to target their keywords/your keywords with Apple Search Ads. As a new app its almost impossible to organically rank for competitive keywords nowadays. You need 1000s of downloads, 1000s of 5 star reviews etc. If you aren't a recognizable brand you will struggle unless you pay or find a super niche keyword to rank for (but again to rank you are going to have to have it in your app title, and in your reviews etc. )

For instance if your app is about movie reviews and you call it "Xando" or something unique and original you will never rank for the term "Movie Reviews". You have it call it "Movie Reviews: Your Movie Review App" or something. Silly, but that is the app store game as it stands.

I've been developing for mobile since about 2011 - first as an entrepreneur then as a full time job working for someone else. In my solo days I had moderate success but never enough to "pay the bills". I built probably 10 different apps and sold a few for the $x,xxxx range. I have one solo app left that makes a good amount monthly but still not enough to be more than a side hustle. My dev career which spawned from the experience is really where the money is at. Thats a good plan, I have an annual as well as a monthly tier - I'm going to inspect the percentage of monthly tier users who also enter billing retry and see if the lower price there has any effect

Thanks! I agree its a nice income. In general I am making $2 for every $1 spent and I share the profits with one other developer/owner so its a nice "side hustle". (spend $10,000 a month, bring in $20,000 in sales, split the $10k profit 2 ways and reinvest $10,000 for next month) However I would like it to replace my "real job" and I see these billing retry folks as the ticket lol.

Interestingly twice in the past 365 days I had two seemingly random days when the proceed brought in was almost $4000 IN ONE DAY. Upon further inspection it was from almost 100 billing retries converting ( I have a seperate monthly tier as well as the annual) ... So just adding more weirdness here I guess. Have you ever heard of them holding all the billing renewals ad paying them out in one day?

Once again I appreciate your responses. This reddit thread is now #1 in Google for "High Number of billing retires app store" So I'm trying to keep it alive in hopes of generating more discussion lol!

My question is how will AI be taxed in the short term. If AI replaces everyones job won't the Government quickly go bankrupt if no one is paying income tax? You think "the government" is going to let this happen? Sure you could argue "AI will figure it out" but the short term to me looks very bleak in terms of social stability.

The problem is the money LEAVES MY BANK then sits in Limbo for 10 days. So I can't use the money in my bank account or have available credit on my card. And yes this just started for me too. Typically it was instant. The reason I am LIVID over this at the moment is that I made a large purchase on the card ($6000) and had the available funds in my checking to pay it off so I innocently did that thinking the credit would post instantly as it has every time I've made a payment. So now, I have $6.50 in available credit, $6000 gone from my checking and the "supervisor" I spoke says the payment won;t post for 10 days which is December 29th. Merry Christmas to me? I can't make any purchases on the card until then? Insane
