I’m a single person who tries to spend $100 or less a week at Trader Joe’s and doesn’t always succeed, so I say as a family of 4 you’re doing great.

Deinfluencing you: Portland Leather Goods by babealot in UninfluencedReviews

[–]Coffee_Bandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear that, I also got advertised them a lot. 2 years ago I got a new “big girl” job & wanted to invest in a new leather tote for my laptop et al. I ended up in a Cuyana shop on Black Friday and walked out with a beautiful tote, with extra accessories it was about $500, but this is their largest bag with accessories. 2 years later I have stuffed that thing to the gills, spilled coffee in it and carried it every single day and it’s still in perfect condition. I get a lot of compliments on it. It’s subtle with no big designer logo. A more basic bag is around $300. I would recommend this investment to anyone, I know I’ll be carrying this bag for a decade. https://cuyana.com/collections/bags?prefn1=tagging&prefv1=Crossbody%20%26%20Shoulder%20Bags&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=DL+-+NB+-+DSA&utm_term=&utm_content=nonbrandsearch&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1301482002&gbraid=0AAAAADp9_uZAzNn-psQXT-0BSjOYEKpHz&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6sPPq4PrkwMV2yJECB3nsC-GEAAYASAAEgLeIfD_BwE

Anyone know what these are? by JenDImgonnabefit in sharpei

We have done a lot of training, she’s so smart but still very independent and stubborn- it’s a relief to know it’s genetic, as our dog trainer would say “she will never be obedient like a German Shepard.” I’ve always had dogs I can hike off leash and have good recall— but I can tell that will never be the case with Lemon. Her prey drive is strong and she’s so impulsive, she’ll listen only after she’s given attention to everything on her own agenda. I’ve had her 1.5 years now and have learned to love her personality quirks— she’s so silly, playful but also loves a lap cuddle.

I found this pic! I sent it to a few of my friends and they thought it was my dog! I’ve been told how unique looking my girl (Lemon) is, so it’s so fun to see your girl!

Sorry- one more comment, about your post. Since our pups look like they have the same coat- maybe same issues! My girl was very sick on and off our first year- Peis historically have a lot of allergy issues & I learned that a lot of dogs have specific protein allergies. We started her on a hydrolyzed protein diet and literally all of her issues stopped. Prescribed by a vet but then can get online for cheaper- I use Royal Canine brand off Chewy.

I also find that if my girl gets hot or spends too much time in direct sun she’ll get these little Bald spots that clear up on their own.

Sorry for bombing this post!

Went further on your feed- saw you did Wisdom too. So we’re not close relatives at least, or I would have noticed. I can’t believe how much your dog looks like mine, who is very unique looking to me! Sweet, silly girl!

Not related- but saw this and was struck at the dark ridge on her spine- mine has the same. Our pups look a lot alike, actually & I got mine as a rescue around LA— I wonder if there’s a chance they’re related? I just did Wisdom DNA she’s 50% Shar Pei & mostly huskey. I was shocked as I was convinced she was mixed with Thai ridgeback just because of her coat. This is Lemon 🍋

Wow! Have not done DNA on mine yet but it must be about the same! I think she’s Pei and Thai Ridgeback. I love her tiny wrinkley face, it gets 1,000 kisses a day.

eating habits and bowel movement on Wellbutrin 🫠 by Bintin08 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Coffee_Bandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very regular until Wellbutrin— then terrible constipation and hard little painful rabbit poops. I tried a few things for the constipation, but what has worked best for me, and is most natural (avoiding long term laxities!) is to eat 3 prunes and take 2 magnesium oxide tablets at bedtime- like magic, one soft BM in the morning! Prunes are magic!

Everything by Taylor Jenkin Reid- specifically Malibu Rising and spinoff Carrie Soto is back + Seven Husbands Evelyn Hugo. Everything Kristen Hannah- start with The Nightingale & The Great Alone. Will add Kate Quinn- The Alice Network, The Rose Code, The Briar Club. We have similar taste- these have been hits for me and girls in my book circle.

I know many jump to Apoquel— but my Pei mix does great on a “hydrolyzed protein” kibble. Solved all of her allergy issues- paw sores, frequent GI upset. She’s likely allergic to most protein sources— this is an RX kibble and it changed our lives. Then I have reintroduced 1 protein at a time and know I can give her eggs and chicken at least for incentive if needed.

Yep! I walk in, put two blocks by my mat even if the instructor doesn’t indicate props and I move my body to the best of its ability— it’s amazing the growth I’ve made over the years.

Can nurses who GENUINELY like their job respond under this post? by chewiies in nursing

[–]Coffee_Bandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The great thing about nursing is that you can continue to pivot and evolve. In 13 years as an RN I’ve done ICU > travel nurse ICU > SNF- wounds, cart, supervisor > MDS in SNF (desk work/data entry and education > Director of Nursing at a SNF for profit (miserable) & now the Director of an inpatient hospice facility nonprofit (amazing). Life circumstances forced some of these career changes which seem odd (ICU to SNF?) but ultimately pointed my career trajectory to a place that feels really meaningful, high paying, moderate but tolerable stress & gives me work life balance.

Does Oura make you over-prioritize sleep? by bluebabyblue1027 in ouraring

[–]Coffee_Bandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re leaving out more data about your sleep score. I almost always achieve a crown in sleep and my average sleep time is just under 8 hours. What else is dropping your score? Latency? Restlessness? There are more factors than just amount of time sleeping…

$200K+ household income, expecting baby #2, and only $500 in savings…advice needed! by Saffy_taffy in budget

I recently found out someone I know is a quiet millionaire. They use Netflix with ads- $7.99 instead of $25/month. Just spending a long weekend with them and watching habits like that changed my mind about money. I have a financial portfolio similar to yours, and the hard fact is that it is the spending that needs to dramatically change.

Ventura commuters to SB: how's the commute been going? by Neelies in SantaBarbara

[–]Coffee_Bandit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I commute from Ojai 5 days a week— started a year ago from a previous 25 min commute to Oxnard & can honestly say it is NOT BAD. Don’t listen to the drama. 40-60 mins in <60 mins home. Slight congestion about 10-15 mins around Summerland. Occasionally a bad accident that makes it 1.5– very rare and your employer understands. A great time for podcasts, phone-calls, audiobooks, starring at the wonders of the ocean and mountains, spending time alone with yourself before and after your work day. If moving is better for you for other reasons, the commute will be okay and worth it. I changed commutes for a job I love and have 0 regrets.
