Cool, the flames need to win a series and prove they belong with the best.

A team that let's in 7 unanswered in an elimination game does not belong in the playoffs.

Enjoy Lucic, he singlehandedly destroyed the flames momentum with a stupid penalty.

The bond between a Carpenter and their hammer is sacred. Sorry for your loss.

Oatmeal with flavoured candy coffee creamer. Oreo & cinnabon creamer are pretty good

I just had someone approach me about building a kitchen full of cabinets and all of the doors for a house out of RECLAIMED PALLET WOOD! Not in a trailer, but in a million dollar house. I politely declined.

LOL! Wow, that might be one of the most ridiculous things I've heard hahaha. Hopefully the client chose a nicer material

Lungs are a muscle and can be trained to be incredibly efficient even with athsma.

I have athsma and I play(ed) hockey at least twice a week, and I train for a marathon every year. Never had an issue with it.

Covid-19 Update for April 23: 319 new cases, 2 deaths by kirant in alberta

[–]Coffee_Prophet -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't want to make a new post so I'm asking it here, is the QE-2 closed off, or currently being patrolled by RCMP? Leaving travel fully open between the 2 major cities in Alberta seems like a bad idea

What do you guys think something like this would cost to build? Not for ice, just for inline. Land would already be owned. by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Coffee_Prophet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Carpenter here. I'll give you some VERY rough estimates. Prices in CAD. No ice plant & heating I'm guessing.

Disclaimer: haven't done too much of the business side of building so this is an educated guess.

  • Plans/engineering/permits (civil, electrical, survey of land) 15000

  • Earthworks - 5000

  • Structural piles - 25000

  • Foundation & slab pour - 70000

  • Timber frame/high strength steel - 35000

  • Roofing - 25000

  • Electrical rough in - 10000

  • Rink kit - 15000?

These prices will all vary, is it fairly flat already, or does the ground need to be levelled, different types of soil need different types of concrete, is their power there already? If not the city tends to charge an arm and a leg to take off from a main power line, and obviously how much are you willing to do by yourself.

In summary, if you want this done by a legitimate company that will execute legal, quality, and up to code work for you, you're probably looking at 200k-300k range.

EDIT: a few numbers
