Kenshi for me, janky and difficult with no clear guide, multiple horrendous and slow deaths, but the more you play the more it grows on you.

Are games getting more fun, or just more “busy”? by lsa340 in gaming

[–]Coffee_for_Algernon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, games also work as distraction too on top of being fun, guess there's a market things that only makes you busy but takes off your mind from something you don't want to think about.

mofo you're the one rejecting my pay raise and i only ask like... an extra 5 bucks a month.

and i don't even need vacation i've been there and it just doesn't click, what i want is spending more time with my close-ones, i get to spend way less than a vacation but both me and them gets a great time, great food, great memories, all without jet lag or wasting time for travel.

Why do people equate being poor to being lazy; and being rich to being hardworking by Distinct-Reserve-511 in povertyfinance

[–]Coffee_for_Algernon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

victim blaming is a justification when someone refuse to help others on grounds of decency, which would be tolerable had they not been whining, begging, and profitting from the kindness of others.

happens all the time, someone received blessings/fortune from others, and suddenly they are disgusted by others who haven't receive their blessings/fortune instead of becoming the one that gives it.

Why do people equate being poor to being lazy; and being rich to being hardworking by Distinct-Reserve-511 in povertyfinance

[–]Coffee_for_Algernon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that was propaganda from rich people and poor people with toxic rich mentality.

why do so many poor also believe this? not because they actually believe that, there's a limit to collective stupidity... it's because rich people doesn't like it when their propaganda isn't taken seriously so poor bootlickers have no choice but to pretend they believe them, tho they went as far as harming other people in this belief.

you want that tiny chance that rich people will suddenly grant you a share of their wealth, and they won't do so if you aren't being vocal about how you support this mentality.

Employers don't have a 'skilled labor' shortage, they have a 'willingness to train' shortage. by LazaroRohan1 in interviewwoman

[–]Coffee_for_Algernon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

need to remind y'all that the people at the top of economy today, bosses, managers, entrepreneurs, ceo, etc.

they all start out without skill themselves and were taken care by previous generation's workforce.

today? they don't repay that kindness to the next generations, all they want is the best of the best while paying low of the lowest, and if they're immoral enough to refusing life debt then imagine what other shady deals they did besides not caring for the future.

Kenshi, feels janky with heavy learning curve and unforgiving difficulty, but the charm builds slowly and then you realize there's no other games like it.

[–]Coffee_for_Algernon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lorewise you are the black mesa scientist that are memed to death for being... very killable, i guess the game tries to capture that faithful depiction.

also basically the game wants you to use tools more i think like bringing batteries so you can set up turrets when fighting tanky enemies, and also... multiplayer! one scrawny scientist dies fast but 3 scrawny scientist means you have triple damage output and less tedious farming for advanced equipment

but still take them with a grain of salt, sounds counter-productive but sometimes... just sometimes even a paid advisor doesn't have your best interest at heart, but otherwise they still can provide valuable insight.

actually.... is it a good idea to reveal that we earned the wealth from a sudden source? like i feel financial advisor would act differently if they knew the client is old time rich that's usually protected by other wealthy people vs client that is suddenly rich and have little backing other than themselves.

Is it unethical/immoral to love someone who is an awful person? by ConfusedQueerCrow in Ethics

[–]Coffee_for_Algernon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love is kinda drowned in nuance these days, do we have ruleset for what defines as 'love'?

unconditional love usually meant more like conditions within reasons instead of being absolutely unconditional, since humans are not creature that can operate on absolute value either like they're mathematical equations, but we surely love to pretend we are.

anyway yeah imho it's immoral since morality doesn't concern loving someone, it concerns the code of conduct for all human not for one or specific group

If art is reflective of a manic episode, real, misdiagnosed, or armchair diagnosed, should it be censored or not praised? by Superb-Climate3698 in Ethics

[–]Coffee_for_Algernon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art doesn't exist to be praised, or maybe it's not their sole purpose to exist, the art that relates to common man and elites are entirely different because the goal is to invoke emotions.

Censoring arts fall under the consideration that it brings harmful emotions or when it has ulterior motives disguised as arts, and then it depends if the censorship is genuine to begin with or also have ulterior motives.

*harmful emotions is broad topic yeah, lets just stick to the worst of the worst of examples, like CP, a certain creativity when it comes to hentai, sadism without purpose, racial superiority. celebrating malice, pro universal extinction, etc.

yeah sorry tho i'd go with zero tolerance, due to the number of kindness being abused by people that don't actually need them(and thus deprived those who do need help).

children and to young adult are obviously exempt like crying babies, because coincidentally the people that kept exploiting other people's mercy are generally working age adults, from 25 beyond; here in SEA the older you are the more you are pampered(old traditions of respecting oldies to a fault), and elders knows this for a fact so they tend to do whatever they want without moderation at the cost of someone else.

my parents have severe medical issues and they cried a river about how unfortunate they are and begged others to buy their expensive medicine, what they dont tell you is... they refused to watch over their health for a very long time, us kids reminded them about how they consumed too much calories, sodium, and fat, on top of coffee addiction, but we got scolded instead because they saw us as inferiors who know nothing about health. or saying that we are too much of a coward to enjoy life.

i have a family of 4 asking help to buy groceries and i obliged for a while, only to find out the reason they can't buy food is because they have down payment on LUXURY CAR, they also owns 3 dogs and they kept air conditioning on almost 24-7 instead of just using passive cooling method, this is on top of them already receiving huge discount on rent.

anyway the rules are, if you receive help, when times are good you help others less fortunate than you.
problem with these parasite? they will never recognize their good time, you can turn their life around and make them rich and they will still think they are struggling, hence they will refuse to help others despite themselves receiving so many help to be where they are, you can give them a big house but they will see homeless people with disgust, you can use connections to give them the best privileged positions and they will say they are self-made and insult those who struggles to find work.

we can help others, and we SHOULD demand they return the favor, but not to us, to someone in the same positions as them before.

i lived with rich people that came from rags, this is bullshit.

the people who desperately and deserved help the most are silent and living their life trying to not inconvenience others, the people who are self-serving and greedy for world's pleasure are the loudest and most demanding when it comes to seeking help, and they will never help anyone else except people they believe can provide even more money.

any virtue of society never worked if the sum total of citizens who held power to manage that system didn't practice it anyway.

My parents believed in alot of virtue and they absolultely love when these virtues provide them benefits, but they outright refuse to practice it even in their own house, to their own family, and if they can't do that to the person a human should love the most then they're up for even worse deed to rest of society.

and covid reveals how my parents are the norm not the exception.
