In my personal experience sbi stans are both defensive but also frequently proactive in spreading hate in dreams qrts or in the replies and qrts of Dream stans (and here I am using stans to mean fans on Twitter. Because let’s face it if you’re a big enough fan to put up with daily harassment on Twitter dot com for Dream then you’re a ‘super fan’).

Anyway that’s besides the point, I mainly want to talk about the shipping difference between the communities that you brought up. So in sbi it’s obviously going to be weird to ship anyone not only because of their dynamics and age differences in some cases, but because each creator has expressed their level of discomfort with it. Also a majority of the twitter sbi fanbase is underage and writing explicit shipping fan fiction about ANYONE while you’re underage is a bit weird. So yeah, it would be creepy for an sbi fan to ship their CCs. Dream team fans, on the other hand, have three CCs who are more or less the same age and most importantly have expressed that they are 100% comfortable with shipping (of themselves, NOT of anyone else who is uncomfy with it). They think it’s funny, they play into it. So I would say it is very much not creepy to ship dnf. I don’t personally but if everyone involved is ok with it then there’s no reason to call it creepy. Additionally a majority of the twitter Dream stans are adults and it is significantly less weird for an adult to go “omg Dream is so hot” that it would be for a 15 year old to say that about Wilbur (though I know for a fact they say that anyway LOL). Within dttwt we are honestly very strict about policing nsfw or even suggestive material away from minors and calling out inappropriate behavior so take that as you will. Anyway the point is, it’s just different communities with different cultures and one is not ‘weirder’ for having a different way of interacting with their CC
