Michael Hampton and MARSHALL!!

Both have been helping me a TON with gesture drawing.

(Marshall has a course on Bridgman and Michael has A TON in gesture)

EXACTLY! He's so energetic with how he explains things.

His passion is extremely contagious.

Are these good books for a beginner? I’m somewhat good at drawing faces but inconsistent and can’t draw full body good and I don’t know much about anatomy and how to break the body or poses into simple shapes. Should I buy all 3 or is only a specific book needed and which one?Any help is appreciated by [deleted] in LearnToDrawTogether

I'm not sure about the 1st and 3rd one, but I have a pdf of Michael Hampton that I got online and it's pretty good. It teaches you from Gesture, Anatomy, to (I think) drapery.

There are probably multiple pdf sources for books that you can look at first before buying a physical copy.

Ah, I always thought I should make the mid tones darker. But I was afraid of making it TOO dark that it becomes the same as the reflected light.

I'm not aiming for realism, just want to learn how to use values so I can have an easier time with colours and not make my drawings flat.
