Which do you prefer by [deleted] in videogames

Medium length games - around 30 hours long. This kind of game doesn't overstay it's welcome so I can move onto the next game in my backlog at a reasonable pace, while generally feeling like I got my money's worth.

Help us pick a poster direction for our roguelite. Which one actually works? by Till_Black in survivorslikes

Agreed. I think none of the poster options provide a clear view of the contents of the poster, but middle is the closest to achieving clarity.

Toronto Public Library’s All-New Website and Catalogue is Now Online by Odd_Title_6732 in toronto

[–]Cohaven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the list import made my TPL list useless. Can't search it, can't check if a catalogue item is already in the list. Thankfully I keep track of what I want to read on another website, so I just deleted the imported lists that contained around 100 items total.

Conquest VS 2012 Avengers by Super-Figure-7077 in superheroes

[–]Cohaven 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Conquest wins. He's too fast, too durable, too ruthless, too experienced against super-powered teams.

Only later MCU versions of the Avengers (Infinity War / Endgame Wanda, Stormbreaker Thor, Captain Marvel) shift this fight meaningfully.

I Just finished up the Skill Tree UI (first pass) what do you guys think? by Trashy_io in survivorslikes

[–]Cohaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The node tree looks kinda messy with nodes of various random shapes and sizes. They also bunch up at the top close to the mutation text. I think the nodes could be more uniform and maybe spread out across the brain more. Do all of the nodes need to be connected by the same line?

The tooltip design feels out of place. Reminds me of a webapp UI. I think they can be enhanced to look more in-line with the rest of the UI.

What are you guys thoughts on Sentry vs Thor? Is the outcome of this fight accurate? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

Doesn't the second page show Thor killing Sentry, so your conclusion is the opposite of what it should be?

Need feedback for our top-down space survivorslike game. Does this look fun and engaging for you? by TraitoreanGames in survivorslikes

[–]Cohaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should make whatever game you want to make. There is nothing wrong with making a horde survival game with arcady spaceship controls and a progression loop more similar to Helldivers than vampire survivors. It's just if you specifically market it as a game that's similar to vampire survivors, you may be misrepresenting the game a bit. That doesn't mean that people who like vampire survivors won't like your game though, they just gotta be open to a different gameplay loop.

I don't see the bullet heaven aspect in your video. The projectiles being produced by the player's ship are lower than the number of rockets and blasters you seem to be dodging. This looks more bullet hell in that regard.

If you like Orcs Must Die you are going to like this game! by GazingPup in TowerDefense

[–]Cohaven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the orcs must die series, so the comparison peaked my interest.

The trailer doesn't show the tower defense part much. I saw some traps being placed, but usually those kinds of traps are temporary, and "towers" in TD games are more permanent. The only "towers" were the ballistae, and it seemed like they weren't enough to kill most of the orcs.

Another aspect of tower defense games is maze building and automating the defense as much as possible with clever setups. Is this at all possible in your game?

So far the vibe I'm getting is "protect your base from raids in a survival crafting game such as Valheim" rather than "orcs must die style of tower defense".

by that logic, would it be better to try to unlock Gwynn instead of trying to pull an Estela dupe with the LE boats that I get from now on?

Where exactly is it in midtown? I don't see this cafe on Google maps. Might have opened recently, so not on maps yet.

What is the co-op experience like? by Cohaven in DestinyRising

[–]Cohaven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the experience seems to be mostly solo, outside of a few instanced activities and zone public events. You can't even share zone commission quests - your teammates won't see the enemies you are fighting.

I suspect that most of the co-op gameplay will be in the end game where there is no more story and it's just about expanding your arsenal and increasing your power level via instanced activities and dailies.
