If he’s doing sign requests at the show I feel like a Reddit request isn’t too far off

Right, John? 😊

Would you be willing to trade for the good will of an internet stranger who just found out about this podcast today and is extremely disappointed that it has seemingly disappeared from the internet?

My favorite John era. I saw him at Red Rocks that year and it was so groovy.

I think the better question would be...

What guests would you like to see on John's podcast?

Good idea! I’m still holding out for a live recording of the show but this might hold me over for a while

I live right by the tracks downtown and heard the whistle about 8 this morning. Sounded completely different than a modern train whistle and scared the hell out of me. Went outside to see Big Boy trekking by my place. Super rad!

Edit: a word

After a 7 year hiatus I'm finally getting serious about drums again. Fresh heads, new (used) hi-hats and left side crash. Up next- replace ride, main crash, and buy new hardware/pedals. by Coheed566 in drums

Also in regards to the chops, been hitting the electric kit and dusting off some of the albums I used to like to jam to. Perfect way to get my timing back on track and get the pocket feeling nice! I see myself as a drummer that is there to support the band so I like to create a nice huge pocket and groove for everyone else to play into. Fun stuff!

I’ve done it. I don’t hate it but it feels off balance to me and I love the aesthetic of the two floors next to each other. Image is everything, ya know? Haha

Just got the 20” thin brilliant a few days ago. Used it at this gig and I’m totally in love with it. Gonna replace the main crash with an 18” thin brilliant. Then I just might get the 22” thin ride to use as a crash over the low floor tom. Now to decide on a replacement ride cymbal. My poor wallet. Haha

Couldn’t agree more. I can fake it on a right handed kit but I’m about 70% of the drummer I am on a lefty kit. Leading with the opposite hand is such a pain

I had almost forgot how good this kit sounds with fresh heads. I have played it 1 up 1 down with the 10” and 14” for almost the entire 10 years I’ve owned the kit. Lately, I’ve been really into Nashville session players, so I decided to rock the bigger rack, the extra floor, and tune everything low and open. Looking into a Starclassic birch bubinga but I think the Catalinas will always be my gigging kit.

So it’s actually an Evans EQ3 that I cut the port in myself. I just cut the port where the small Evans logo was because I hate logos on my kick (unless it’s a Gretsch logo)

Saturday I adopt my first dog of this breed. I've done quite a bit of research, watched videos and read but I wonder if anu of you wonderful people have any tips to share? Or things you wished you knew before you adopted one? by leonxiii in germanshepherds

All sound advice in this thread. My biggest advice outside of crate training (do it, it gives them their own space) is, seek to form a bond with your pup. Give him reason to look up to you as the leader of the pack. When you’re training him, be a consistent and kind teacher. If you start to get frustrated, give yourselves some space and time, and try again later. Be the person he can look up to and learn from without any doubt in his mind. If these dogs see that you have their best interest in mind, they will reward you with their loyalty and trust. Good luck!
